Message: Hillary Clinton vs. Liddy Dole ................................................................................ .......................................................................................................................... Let's COMPARE THESE TWO ACCOMPLISHED AND SAVVY LADIES, SHALL WE: Mrs. Dole is graduate of Duke, Harvard Law School, a Phi Beta Kappa honor society member, has held two Cabinet positions (Transportation Secretary under Reagan, Labor Secretary under Bush) and was the chief executive of the American Red Cross for eight years. Mrs. Clinton holds degrees from Wellesley College, and Yale Law School, a Phi Beta Kappa key, and worked in the 1970s and 80s as a corporate lawyer in a major Arkansas law firm, and has of course been First Lady since 1992; her chairmanship of the President's healthcare task force remains, however, her only major policy related endeavor to date. Though, granted, she has also during this period published a well received book and spoken out on a host of children's issues, the fact remains that her most legislatively distinguished (and publicly acclaimed) work as First Lady has been in the roles of either spousal nag or as the notorious "First Lady Cuckold." Both these women are clearly intelligent, proven leaders and formidable spokeswomen for particular legislative causes and governmental approaches. What then makes Hillary so distinguished or superior to Liddy Dole? If anything Mrs. Dole has more concrete policy and leadership experience in the Federal government (Dole has also served as a Federal Trade Commissioner [1973-79] and in the Nixon and Johnson administrations as a consumer protection policy advisor/advocate). While Mrs. Clinton certainly played an important (and in all likelihood commendable) role in both terms of the Clinton Presidency, it was only with the national health care insurance initiative that Mrs. Clinton had to actually bear any responsibility. Elizabeth Dole, in contrast, has had to take responsibility and heat in all of her executive posts-- in Transportation (particularly during the controversial privatization of Conrail which she oversaw; on issues of air safety, and automobile quality control), in Labor (during the 1990 coal miners strike), and in the Red Cross (during concerns raised by federal regulators at the beginning of Dole's tenure about the safety of the Red Cross' regional blood screening processes). My point is, no matter what you want to say about comparing Hillary and Liddy, you have to admit that Mrs. Dole has held high level governmental and business-leadership positions that, in cases where things went wrong or if groups came forward with grievances about policy decisions or what have you, Mrs. Dole had to face the criticism and had no choice but to take responsibility for the implications of her administrative decisions and practices -- whereas Mrs. Clinton, although an accomplished corporate lawyer and noted legal scholar on children's issues, has only had this kind of do-or-die leadership experience during her disastrously mismanaged health care project (a failed opportunity if there ever was one)!

Message: Comments In a recent newspaper "blurb," I read feminist and founding editor of "Ms. Magazine" Gloria Steinem voicing disdain for the presidential bid of two-time former Cabinet secretary, Elizabeth Hanford Dole. Steinem was reported as saying something to the effect that, "Elizabeth Dole is our Clarence Thomas you know." Where are people hearing that Elizabeth Dole, if elected President or Vice-president on a Republican ticket, will set back women's rights? Is it merely on account of her membership in the GOP? As Secretary of Labor, Mrs. Dole initiated the "Glass Ceiling Commission" which worked to study and facilitate the entrance of women and African Americans into the highest echelons of corporate leadership. In fact, Mrs. Dole is credited with coining the "glass ceiling" phrase in political lingo. Also, why would a woman who had the audacity to go to Harvard Law School at a time when few other women dared to break with convention want to set back women's rights? Do you think Mrs. Dole has some sort of self-hatred? There is no rationale whatsoever for thinking Mrs. Dole is anti-woman, or for that matter, even antifeminist. I would suspect that feminist attacks on Mrs. Dole's credentials for the Presidency amount to little more than ultra-partisan, uninformed and baseless political assumptions. PS -- Remember also that many of the old-guard leftist feminist establishment would have none to little jealousy for a woman as remarkably successful in government and business as Mrs. Dole who does not claim to have "made it" on account of NOW and the Gloria Steinem 1970s wave of paleofeminism. Mrs. Dole emerged decidedly prior to the 1970s, at a time when women faced not only the "glass ceiling" of the 1980s and 90s, but in point of fact a generally acknowledged and publicly accepted "lead ceiling." Think about this

Personally I would not like to see it sold in the stores like cigarettes and alcohol. However I would like to see physicians prescribe it for their patients for any reason they deem necessary.

Some doctors are already prescribing it here in California, but it is still kept rather quiet. A friend of mine gets prescriptions from a doctor for her "arthritis" and also gets access to good quality pure stuff.

As you may know the Medicinal Marijuana Law passed by a very large margin in California. It was voted in by 76% of the population in San Francisco, and 73% in conservative Marin County.

No more abortion talk? Ok, lets talk about shrinking the nanny federal govt. - get rid of most of the agencies (education, energy, commerce, health and human services, EPA, etc.- how did we EVER survive without them? [sarcasm]) and let the Feds. take care of what they are SUPPOSED to take care of: defense, law enforcement and interstate commerce (that's all folks). Let the marketplace take care of the rest, the marketplace--the accumulation of individual decisions; what the people want; where marketplace discipline give us the best value for our dollar.

We DON'T want the inefficient wasteful bureaucrats running healthcare and playing doctor. This 3rd party "free" healthcare stuff will have every neurotic running to the emergency room every other day. Let people shop the marketplace and let competition bring marketplace discipline back into healthcare. If enough people want a family doctor to make house-calls, it could happen via the marketplace.

Also, get rid of the current tax code. How many millions if not billions of dollars have been wasted trying to follow this monstrosity? Flat tax or national sales tax--either one is a better alternative in savings realized and more money back in the marketplace alone.

And there's more.... We chastized the GOP for not supporting her, and mocked Bob Dole for dissing her. Libby Dole is wasted on the GOP. We would like to see her come over on to our side and run as Al Gore's Vice President. We'll give her the support she has not found with the GOP misogynists.

It's because , basically politicians are bought off on both sides of the fence. The young would be voters aren't so dumb as we think they are. Maybe, now is the time for Campaign Finance Reform. Think about it. Are the American people actually so free as we think we are when it comes to elections in this great land of ours? Maybe, some elections have become a hoax afterall. The big money buys elections. The politicians are beholden to their contributors. Our voice is not being heard. Land of the free. I wonder. Think about it!

Message: "You will find that the old guard feminists are nothing more than bitter malcontents. "

The old guard feminists made breakthroughs for women which we, sadly, have all taken for granted. I remember the time women, who were married, could not own property or get credit in their name. When it was next to impossible to get into law school, medical school, or any of the traditional male jobs. I remember when women's sports consisted of cheerleading and "baking cookies for the boys!"

Oh yes, I remember when women tried to be as stupid as possible to attract men. A time when it was chic to act weak, helpless and pathetic to be attractive to men. YUK! Oh yes, I remember when women became pregnant they were hidden away from public view as though they had some disease.

I remember Betty Friedan's first book "Feminine Mystique" and how it changed our lives forever and for the better. To all these Old Guard Feminists I say a BIG THANK YOU for the insults you took and the courage you displayed to move us forward.

And now that the Old Guard has grown old, passed their prime, and a little cranky, I want you to know that I have not forgotten you, and I will make sure that my daughters and grand daughters will not forget you either.

We have taken the baton from you and are running down the track, and we are winning on the soccer fields, and the medical fields, and the legal fields. We are running out in front, for ourselves, for humanity, forever free - thanks to thee.

Interesting Contradictions to Ponder wrote: "Have you noticed that the same people who want to control your drug use are the same people who do NOT want you to control their use of guns???"

You betcha! TOTAL Gun control is a no-brainer - there simply shouldn't be any.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people...WITH guns (and steak-knives and ropes and bricks and etc. etc.)

I'm all for background checks. If there is a way to make them reasonably stricter, why not? I'm all for a longer cooling off period. Isn't it a 3 or 5 day waiting period now?

BUT if you take guns away from the American public - the innocents who buy guns to protect themselves in their own home - you're essentially taking away their right to self-defense.

People keep using "guns" and "children" in the same sentence. Look at these two scenarios: 1) Armed criminal breaks into your home in the black of night and shoots you and your family to death before you had a chance to grab the knife by your bed. (Those bullets are fast, aren't they??) Now what do you have since the govt took away your guns? Nothing. You're dead. You're wife is dead. And you're children are dead. Didn't the government tell this criminal that guns weren't allowed?? 2) Armed criminal breaks in your home in the black of night. You grab your gun and manage to shoot the bastard dead before he can massacre your entire family and you all live to see tomorrow.

I hear the argument that children find guns in homes and accidents happen with death being the tragic result. Parents, it's your responsibility, not the government's, to hide the guns. And there are always going to be accidents, so there will always be children who find them. But there will always be people or entire families saved as in the aforementioned scenarios by the presence of a gun in the home.

Although Hillary Clinton has called for greater gun control, I have never heard her expressly state that she believes we should disarm the American public. IF she has, I would have to disagree.

People can kill people with cars. When are we going to push to outlaw them? Are they next on the list? No, they are used for transportation, you say! Well guns have many uses, one being to defend you and yours. So which USE are we going to hold in the highest esteem to make our individual arguments for or against gun control? Since I'm a law abiding citizen, I think you know my answer.

Afterall, she is pathalogical in her obsession to tell other people how they should live. The "village" she talks about is another distribution of wealth plan that will do nothing but create a bloated government progran as it always does. She does not have the capacity to realize that human nature dictates that a certain percentage of the population never contribute, have never contributed and will never contribute. Let them eat cake!!! She will further degridate the family by taking away fathers rights to raise children as they see fit. Afterall, she knows better. She thinks it's the availibilty of guns, but it has been the erosion of the family, and particullarly the role of males in the family that has lead to shootings in schools. Hillary Calls for tougher Gun Control Laws

July 15, 1999 - Rockville Centre, NY - Hillary called on all Americans to support tougher gun control laws at a gun control forum with U.S. Representative Carolyn McCarthy. "We will not make progress on a sensible gun control agenda unless the entire American public gets behind it."

Mrs. Clinton made her remarks to a group of parents, kids and teachers at the South Side Middle School in Nassau County. She was joined by Carolyn McCarthy, a leader on gun control issues. Mrs. McCarthy recently backed a bill in the House of Representatives that would have required trigger locks on all new handguns as well as more thorough background checks on sales at gun shows.

The event centered on keeping guns out of the hands of children. Mrs. Clinton told the kids in attendance, "It is really important for each of you to make sure you stay away from guns. If you have guns in your home, tell your parents to keep them away from you and your friends and your little brothers and sisters."

Hillary...are you listening to me? It's an honorable goal to want to "keep guns out of the hands of children," but you will never keep the guns out of the hands of criminals. So where does that leave the rest of us?

You have my support on strengthening gun control laws but not with the eventual objective of disarming America. No one will ever create a gun control agenda that GUARANTEES criminals won't obtain the guns and use them on the rest of society.

Hill, talk to me. Tell me how you really feel on gun control. Where would you like to see it all end? Where do you see gun control laws in 5 yrs.? 10 yrs?

DURING FOUR DAYS of debate, the majority Republicans defeated every Democratic amendment and gutted the alternative legislation offered by Democrats, so the outcome was expected.

Republicans argued that the Democratic bill would cost too much and impose too many regulations. They said their version was simpler and less expensive but still would protect patients from any overly zealous cost-cutting health plans.

Democrats labeled the Republican bill a loophole-riddled sham that would give few meaningful protections to a minority of Americans and leave most people with no new safeguards at all.

A woman was leaving a 7-11 with her morning coffee when she noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery.

A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind. Behind the second hearse was a solitary woman walking a pit bull on a leash. Behind her were 200 women walking single file.

The woman couldn't stand the curiosity. She respectfully approached the woman walking the dog and said "I am so sorry for your loss and I know now is a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

The woman replied, "Well, that first hearse is for my husband."

"What happened to him?"

The woman replied "My dog attacked and killed him."

She inquired further, "Well, who is in the second hearse?"

The woman answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my husband when the dog turned on her."

A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passes between the two women.

"Could I borrow that dog?"

"Get in line."

Can democracy survive when special interests are gaining on us? This is due to the fact that winning elections has become so expensive that it forces candidates to become whores.

Message: How can we talk about a Patient's Bill of Rights while ignoring the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution. The Constitutioal Bill of Rights were designed to protect individual liberties against possible encroachment by the Federal Government. What has happened to our individual liberties, when we lose the right to sue insurance companies, when they deny treatment for our survival and well being. The Preamble of the US Constitution begins with the words. "We the people of the United States" this includes All of the people, regardless of their age. What a tragedy, when we no longer have a government of the people, and by the people. Instead we have a government of the Republicans or by the Democrats. They sit on their high horses and winning elections is more important to them then the needs and the rights of the people. They are looking out for their own interests and the American people are losing their rights to make decisions about their own health needs. We all pay Income Taxes, yet we are denied the security of knowing that we will have decent health care when we need it.

Our legislators have voted themselves a raise because of the higher cost of living. This is really ironic, because they all ready get health care for free at our expense. What do they care if all prescription drug prices continue to soar, even generics. The drug companies blame the increases are necessary for research and the politicians go along with this phoney excuse. They conveniently ignore the fact that these same pharmacutical companies are spending millions by constantly advetising on TV, magazines, and newspapers. and in addition money for lobbying and campaign contributions. Do they honestly think Americans are so stupid and gullible that they, the politicians can fool us with their rhetoric.

Could you be more specific? From my perspective - I think the Republican bill is a good one and the opposition is demagoguery at its worst. Please be specific.

The Bill Clinton Model - demagogue the issue, veto it a few times, and when the poll numbers force you to sign it - claim it was your idea in the first place (remember the Balanced Budget (vetoed twice by Clinton, Clinton even shut the government down to avoid signing it) and Welfare Reform (Bill Clinton veto it twice then signed it into law claiming he will FIX it in the future and then ran on Welfare Reform as one of HIS accomplishments). It looks like more Clinton political games.

they will even go as far as to endanger our health

This is a GREAT example. What an absurd statement! The congress is debating health care insurance - not health care. They are debating the rules for health care insurance providers - not health care. Any American is FREE to get ANY health care their little heart desires - all that is being debated is what is the health care insurance companies are required to fund. When you buy car insurance - do you expect it to cover gas and oil - of course not! When you buy car insurance - do you expect it to cover every possible thing you can imagine - NO. So why do you think health care insurance should cover anything and everything? Freedom is a difficult concept for the Congressional Democrats to understand - Americans have the freedom to buy any healthcare they want - ANY! Healthcare insurance was created to cover large unexpected costs (just like auto insurance) - suddenly Democrats think it should cover everything and the citizen no longer have to be personally responsible. Democrat Motto: Womb to the tomb ye shall suckle at the government teats.

Anyway - that is the way I see it right now.

Betsy - you might want to READ the Bill of Rights because you have got it back-ass-ward. Nowhere in the Bill of Rights are we granted the right to somebody else's money. Insurance companies DO NOT and CAN NOT deny treatment - they can only deny the funds. When you buy healthcare insurance - the rules are spelled out at the time you buy it - what you are saying is it is OK for people to be ignorant of the rules and if they do not like it they should be able to sue the insurance company (stupidity compensation). Anyway - you are barking up the wrong tree - the Bill of Right does not give you the right to take somebody else's money (thank god!).

Where the HECK do you get the idea that we had "health care rights". Please read the Constitution - we have no such thing. Why? Because that would be a right to somebody else's money. If you have a right to an amount of healthcare even if you can not pay for - then you have a right to have somebody else pay for it (somebody has to pay for it). It is amazing - in a very short time this country went from a group of self-sufficient free agent to slaves piglets condemned to suckling the government teats for everything. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried - why are we letting the Democrat drag us into socialism?

If you are concerned about healthcare - prepare yourself. Get insurance and SAVE and INVEST MONEY so you can afford ALL the healthcare you desire. If you have no money - get a bloody job - only YOU is responsible for YOU!

You have NO RIGHT to healthcare - it is a personal responsibility!

This is a phony BS statement - this is the propaganda you are being fed - it is NOT TRUE - you have been duped!

In 1969 - YOU paid for your healthcare and YOU may have had insurance for emergencies. The idea of some magical healthcare insurance fairy paying ALL your medical bills was considered absurd. (I know I was there)

Today - you are still FREE to get ANY healthcare you want - ANY AND ALL. If you want a sex change operation - have at it. If you want a penis sewed on your forehead - more power to you (I am not sure if they have perfected this procedure). What we are discussing is what the healthcare insurance companies are required to pay for. Today, the socialists have convinced the masses that the healthcare insurance fairy should pay for ALL your medical bills. This costs A LOT of money - do the math. If you are unhappy with your healthcare insurance - get NEW healthcare insurance or PAY FOR IT YOURSELF. In this country you have the right to life (unless you are pre-born human), liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You do not have a right to every imaginable medical procedure for FREE! You do not have the right to somebody else's money! If they invent a procedure that adds 50 years to everybody's life but cost 1 Billion per person - should we have a RIGHT to this procedure? Your answer will illustration your knowledge or lack of knowledge of economics.

Of course not! Where on earth did you read or hear this nonsense? Just because she wants to have us register our guns, as we register our cars and our controlled medication, does not mean she wants to confiscate our cars or our pills!!!

Some people will contend that the government will confiscate our guns as Hitler did. This is bogey-man nonsense. The government is not a Nazi operation and will no more confiscate our guns than they will our cars. Nor will they put us in gas ovens.

The reason I did not respond to you was that your question was too outrageous and I did not want to bring up the issue of guns again. Guns and abortion are highly charged emotional issues that cannot be resolved. I was hoping, however, that we could get something resolved with the health care issue which affects us all.

Perhaps you are not aware of this but major media follow what we are writing. If one issue, driven continuously by one person, becomes so overbearing and redundant that it irritates or bores people to the point that we lose our audience I am compelled to delete it.

There are dozens of our HRC forums filled with abortion arguments. To my knowledge never has anyone made a point that won the other side over. The abortion debate is an exercise in futility. Everyone has made up their minds and will never change it, even if they send their own daughters or wives to the abortion doctor. We found that out with Bob Barr during the Impeachment hearings. Here he was championing the anti-abortion issue, accusing people who supported the abortion laws immoral, but takes his own wife to the abortion doctor.

The abortion issue may soon be a thing of the past when the RU486 abortion pill is introduced, unless the GOP chooses to violate our privacy laws again, by forcing doctors and their patients to reveal their use of this pill.

Now if you want to argue this privacy issue between doctor and patient, that would be a new and interesting issue, but the old "sucking a baby down the sink" argument will no longer be valid after we get the pill.

If you want to argue for or against the RU486 pill, that's a relatively new argument. But arguments for or against forced motherhood are futile.

I don't mean smushing the two opossing sides together and creating a law. I mean comming up with something compleatly enw and inovative. For example, the patients rights bill, Pres Clinton has already said he is going to veto it. So yet again these "law makers have been waisting there time and ours" Why is it so impossable to think that these grown adults can come up with somthing that benifits both sides. For example the Republicans don't want to let patients sue there HMO and the democrats do. Why do we say well you can sue the HMO but you claim needs to first be brought to a group of qualified profetionals (who have severed all ties from the industry) to determin said claim is valid. This is one way of compimise i thought up while i was driving. I bet everyone out there can think of a comprimise that will work. Well, anyone who knows much about health insurance knows that psychiatric coverage is among the worst even for people who have excellent coverage. Since my coverage was rather skimpy in that the coverage I had most times was a sometimes yes and sometimes no medicaid. I was on this program that gave me coverage for my medicine when I ran the bills high enough to justify it. Something called SpendDown medicaid. A truly useless government program. I couldn't afford my medicine, so when I ran the bill high enough (usually nearly a thousand dollars of bills were required) I could get three more months of medicine. In the meantime, going into the hospital because I couldn't afford the medicine I needed normally ran the bill well over $10,000 so getting my medicine was no problem. As soon as I ran out, I was normally legitimately hospitalized anyway. Nowadays, I have Blue Cross which pays for the $400 to $500 of medicine I take every month without all these silly little rules and so I have not been hospitalized in quite a number of years. Which is cheaper, $500 a month for medicine or $10,000 of hospital bills every three months and then pay the damn medicine bills anyway? The government is stupid.

People need health insurance coverage and they don't need the government to be involved since Uncle Sam is utterly and completely unable to give out health care (or any thing else for that matter) with out attaching so many rules and requirements to it that he shoots himself in the ass. Message: Broaddrick charges are 21 years too late But Bill's a louse -- and hypocrite Hillary deserves to have a solipsistic Beverly Hills brat tied to her tail for all eternity. Dear Camille: How are feminists going to react to the now exploding Juanita Broaddrick 1978 rape allegations against then-Arkansas Attorney General Bill Clinton? Is there a limit to how much he can get away with, or can a pro-choice Dem married to HRC get away with ANYTHING? D. Murphy Dallas Dear D. Murphy, To my great surprise, Patricia Ireland, president of the National Organization for Women, who has normally taken a partisan Democratic line, made several statements severely critical of President Clinton after Broaddrick's televised charges. But then, predictably, Ireland backed off within days as she tried, in a bizarre feat of casuistry, to twist and turn the whole ruckus against conservative Republicans. If the stonewalling feminist establishment had responded rationally and honorably to Paula Jones' claim against Clinton in 1994 (when I stood virtually alone as a dissident feminist in my public support of Jones), the president's arrogant legal team might have been persuaded to settle the case -- and spare the nation the entire sorry saga of the Monica Lewinsky scandal and its convulsive impeachment aftermath. While Broaddrick's disturbing charge of rape against Clinton may or may not be true, the statute of limitations on that offense ran out long ago. I feel about the Broaddrick imbroglio much as I did about the overblown 1991 furor over Anita Hill, whose flimsy tales were cynically used by feminist insiders to hound and humiliate conservative Clarence Thomas because of their obsession with abortion rights: In all fairness, 10 years (in Thomas' case) or 21 years (in Clinton's case) must not be allowed to pass before charges are brought, particularly when there is little or no corroborating evidence. This is not a police state. I glimpsed the Jekyll-and-Hyde Clinton (as tearfully described by Broaddrick to NBC's Lisa Myers) in a fascinating moment of news footage several years ago, when Clinton was accosted and scolded on a California beach by a woman who was walking her dog. Some enterprising assistant producer should dig that tape out: A cold, purplish snarl and contemptuous, misogynous leer comes over Clinton's normally pallid and studiously bland, boyish features. It was a shocking revelation -- but of course the obtuse major media let it go without comment or follow-up. As a husband, Bill Clinton is a louse, and as a wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton is a collaborator and churchgoing hypocrite who has again and again propped up that façade of a happy marriage for political self-interest and whose elitist indifference to less well-educated white women has helped produce what is apparently an endless series of female targets groped, propositioned, exploited or abused by her feckless spouse. Hillary richly deserves to have Monica Lewinsky -- that solipsistic Beverly Hills brat with a father complex -- tied to her tail for history. Don't mess with Jewish-American princesses! -- one of my all-time favorite sexual personae in life and art. I guess Hillary never saw "Goodbye, Columbus" (1969), the spirited film version of Philip Roth's novel starring the deliciously all-ruling Ali MacGraw (who later learned she herself is partly Jewish). Hillary makes great speeches: That is the totality of her political accomplishments. On the podium, she is the Protestant nun in her pulpit, full of Jonathan Edwards' thunder of hellfire. As she demonstrated during her ill-fated tenure as chief of health-care reform, she is a cliquish authoritarian who doesn't understand how democracy works. Why in Eleanor Roosevelt's name would anyone think the people of New York (my home state) want her as their senator? She'd have to have her own private cloak room built on the Mall to sit and sulk in, because a team player she ain't. Let's pack Hillary and her paper-thin feminism off on a world tour where she can do some good for the United Nations as a hectoring bottle blond with a mission for women's and children's rights. I'm sick of the Clintons and their eternal screw-ups. Right now, I'm looking to the future with high hopes for the 2000 campaign, where I'm enthusiastically supporting U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein for at least vice president on the Democratic national ticket.

The Eskimoes put their first born out in the snow to die, if it was a girl, because she could not hunt enough food to keep the family alive. They put the old people, especially the old women, out in the snow to die if they could no longer contribute to the family and food was scarce. Survival is law.

In China and India, at this present time, there are approximately 40 million females missing in each country(read forty million - total 80 million). This is their solution to their overpopulation problem.

Our solution in the USA is more humane - abortion. Soon it will be even more humane when the French abortion pill RU486 is released. The argument over abortion will only concern complications, which have always been sanctioned, but the "baby will not get sucked down the sink" anymore. Your arguments are almost passe.

I'm truly sorry to hear about John f. Kennedy Jr.'s alleged death.

Yet, I'm not 100% sure the media hasn't gone overboard with all excessive coverage. Didn't another Kennedy die on the ski slopes a while ago? Am I wrong to assume that the press gave it minimal coverage in comparison?

I have been trying to justify the contradition....

I'm not of the Kennedy generation; actually, the first President I remember as a child is Ford, so perhaps the torrent of emotion sweeping the world is a little lost on me. I speculated to a friend the possibility of a heavy "guilt factor" involved with this media circus that will now parade before the world. Isn't it feasible that Americans of the Kennedy presidency feel partially responsible for "John-John" growing up without a father? They didn't pull the trigger, but they put John F. Kennedy in the White House, which also meant placing him in a position to be assassinated. Do the images compound the guilt? The horrible scenes of the shooting, the slumped over dead president, the blood on Jackie's dress, John-John's salute at this father's funeral....

Does America still feel the pangs of guilt?

I do believe that John F. Kennedy was "the only Kennedy that had a shot at being cool." He seemed drawn towards normalcy, no matter how the press attempted to disrupt that inclination. I respect someone who tried to call a "truce" with the press to give his new wife some freedom to become adjusted to the spotlight before she was thrust into it 24-7. No doubt people respected John Jr. for his dignified character, and that is another facet to the world's fascination with him in life and now in (possible) death.

Yet, I stil find myself dismayed at the media's dubbing of the Kennedy family as "America's Royalty." Should a family that rose to the top of the ranks of wealth and prosperity with the help of MOB connections EVER be hailed as "royalty?"

If I were raped, I would not want to either give birth to or
raise a child who carries half of the genetic code to RAPE.As a
rape victim, I would not want to raise a potential rapist. What
if it really is nature rather than nurture?
....
What if your great great grandmother was raped. What if (because she
did live in a time where she would have been rejected by her family
and society) she got married quickly and raised her child with love.
Would your brother have a bit of rapist in him? (of course, he has a
penis) What about you .. would you be eyeing young boys? Killing a
baby because of what maybe their personalities if they were allowed
to live is very cold hearted. If you divorce your husband after you
find out he was guilty of date-raping several girls in his youth ...
should you kill your son who has the potential for the same. How silly.
If a woman puts herself as priority of an INNOCENT inside her body ...
than don't get upset over a man who saves himself and watches his kids
drown. Its a slippery slope ... India is notorius for allowing abortions
of females at any time in the pregnancy. Females are considered a burden
unless you have a lot of money.

seaports or large lakes and view multi-million dollar yacht while just
a few hundred yards away are children that are sick, and their parents
do not have the ability to provide basic healthcare for their kids. older
americans, and mangled up war veterans sit on the shore wondering how it
could be they their best to this country, and now this country is
unwilling to provide the most basic of their needs. Who are those guys in
those yachts anyway?; and what percentage of their guest list includes
congressmen, and ladies ? ....

Those guys in those yachts are running the companies that employ the
thousands of people and pay for over most of their Group Health Insurance
(ever try to buy the exact same policy outside your employer?). I'm sure
quite a few insurance company executives have spent a night or two in the
lincoln bedroom. Oh .. I guess I missed your point ... you were saying all
rich people are bad because you are not rich. If I ever work hard and become
rich .. I am bad. The more money you make ... the more taxes you should pay
because you don't deserve to get too far ahead of the poor slobs you were
able to out perform. The governments got to get its cut to keep the hungry
fed and homeless sheltered. How much does the federal government give to
habitat for humanity and the local soup kitchen? I think thats mostly local.
Okay .. where does all that money go .. social security ... medicare ...
rebuilding Iran, Kuwait, Kosovo, starving im Mexico and China, Russia.
Regardless .. I like your theory ... make those guys pay for everything
for us working folk. We won't get mad if they get upset, merger with a larger
company and hide all their money in swiss accounts so the government can't
get it. That will just make more unemployed and homeless people the government
can use as an excuse to raise taxes and piss off more rich people.
