I did not have the privilege to hear all of Rush's comments on this but what I did hear was that he was suspicious of the Perjurer in Chief's motive for his attendence at the game (which caused major inconvenience for thousands of real fans). On January 23, 1995, six days after his swearing-in as governor, George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush sold their Dallas home with a restrictive covenant that read in part: "... premises shall be used for private dwelling purposes only and by white persons only, not excluding bona fide servants of any race..."

In recent days, major media outlets have struggled whether to report the details of the covenant -- which is completely null and void in the eyes of the law.

The home was purchased by Bush in 1988 with the restriction attached to the deed.

Generally, only the original deed on a property spells out any covenant restrictions. Succeeding deeds refer back to previous deeds for specific language.

The DRUDGE REPORT is in possession of the restrictive covenant for 6029 Northwood in Dallas-- a covenant that has covered the property since 1939.

A Bush campaign spokeswoman said on Monday: "This is a completely non-binding covenant. It is completely outdated. In fact, the governor has friends in Dallas who have the same restrictions on their house -- and they are African-American!"

Restrictive covenants with race restrictions have caused political heartburn for a wide assortment of political figures in the past 30 years, from John Kennedy and Richard Nixon, to Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Senator Dianne Feinstein.
