Afiling petition to a federal judge last week raised the possibility that the FBI files case, one of the capital's great all-time mysteries, might yet be broken open--with political implications for Hillary Rodham Clinton. It requests the deposition of a former Clinton White House aide's ex-wife, who claims she observed her husband transferring FBI files into his laptop computer.

The June 29 filing by the conservative Judicial Watch asked U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth in Washington to authorize the sworn testimony of Leslie Gail Kennedy, who was married until late 1994 to former White House Associate Counsel William H. Kennedy. The request also quotes Mrs. Kennedy's opinion that Mrs. Clinton was associated with the FBI files. The next day, Judicial Watch also asked Lamberth for a deposition of the first lady on grounds that "she was involved in, if not responsible for, making key decisions that bear on `Filegate.' "

Most inscrutable of the Clinton scandals is the appearance in the White House during President Clinton's first two years in office of FBI personal files of prominent Republicans. Even partisan Democrats suggested this was an inexcusable invasion of privacy. Yet, after the White House shrugged it off as a "bureaucratic snafu," special prosecutor Kenneth Starr seemed to lose interest.

But not the dogged Larry Klayman, chairman of Judicial Watch. His class-action suit against the White House, the FBI, selected aides and Mrs. Clinton asks $90 million for people whose confidential files went astray. Happily for Klayman, the case is in the courtroom of Lamberth--a Reagan appointee who shows no deference to the Clinton administration.

Still, the case looked dead until Judicial Watch employee Christopher Farrell interviewed Mrs. Kennedy at her Little Rock home June 11. According to Farrell's court filing, she told him that her ex-husband "brought FBI files from his White House office to their home in Alexandria, Va." She observed him "on several occasions" working for hours, "making entries from the files into a database he maintained on his laptop computer."

Kennedy's wife, according to the filing, asserted that the database "was intended to make FBI file information accessible and useful to the Clinton administration." Asked whether these were files of Reagan and Bush administration staffers, she replied there would be no need to review files of Democrats "routinely available" at the White House. Her statement tended to be confirmed by the deposition in the case last December by Linda Tripp, swearing that as a White House staffer she knew of Kennedy putting FBI files into his database.

Farrell visited Mrs. Kennedy again June 16 to get a sworn affidavit, but she demurred. According to the filing, she said she "could not be seen by people in this administration as being out here volunteering information. If I get subpoenaed, that's a different story. At least, I'll have some cover."

If she is telling the truth, her ex-husband is in trouble. When deposed by Judicial Watch last October, Kennedy denied ever using a laptop computer while working at the White House. He said "I don't recall" bringing home work related to the personnel clearance process and declared FBI files were "locked up after hours in the White House." Kennedy's attorneys did not respond to telephone calls.

Kennedy was no underling in the category of file purveyors Craig Livingstone and Anthony Marceca. He was Mrs. Clinton's colleague at the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock and is back there now. It is improbable that he would carry on activities alleged by his former wife without approval.

Mrs. Kennedy expressed personal views about how high the scandal goes. Asked what use might be made of the files, the court filing says, she "pointed out that Mrs. Clinton's first major policy objective was `health care reform' and that Mrs. Clinton anticipated resistance from many people in forwarding her agenda."

What Mrs. Kennedy would say under oath and cross-examination is a key question. Lamberth now must decide whether she will be brought to Washington. He also must decide whether the first lady must finally tell what she knows about her erstwhile law partner and what he was doing with those FBI files

It would not be ladylike for me to elaborate. Do you have friends from the U.K? Maybe they could clue you in.

A nod is as good as a wink to a blind bat - but nevertheless I think you have misinterpreted the colloquialism "bloody". While you may be able to dream up really nasty connotations - the term is commonly used on UK TV so obviously you have chosen a different meaning for the word then is commonly known. "Bloody" equates to words like "stinking" as is "That stinking traffic jam". Sound like you have a good imagination.

Today is July 9th and I found out two days ago that my 2 1/2 year old son Patrick suffers from Fragile X Syndrome. There currently is a bill before the House of Representative and the Senate to provide funding for the Study of Fragile X. It currently has the title of H.R. 1445. I hope by your getting into the Senate you will support this bill on behalf of my son and so many other children who suffer from this extremely common cause of Mental Retardation and Developmental Delays.

I have already written to Carolyn McCarthy in the House of Represenatives and hope that your position in the Senate will also help a great many children who are diagnosed and the many who should be checked and are not.

Message: So let me see if I have this right... the Hillary Machine wants voters to place in the Senate an individual who has stood by a man who has made a mockery of the Office of the Presidency, sold out the country's national security interests to the Chinese Communists for hefty bags of cash and campaign donations, who has single-handedly orchestrated the ruination of untold careers and personal/professional reputations (men AND women), has lied in the most baldfaced fashion to the American people on literally hundreds of issues and, when caught, engaged in the most legalistic parsing and wordsmithing of phrases to claim he was 'technically" accurate (ie-- redefining sex and the word 'is' and 'alone'), engaging in extortion and intimidation of the first order, of which any mob boss would take pride, by threatening the livelihoods and reputations of anyone who would dare to criticize or speak out against him or his administratiion, or anyone who would dare to testify truthfully against his transgressions-- all this from a man whom this women KNEW was engaged in illegal, immoral, and dispicable acts, and yet she stood by and not only turned a blind eye, but was an active accomplice, a co-conspirator in these activities--- and don't think these incidents just started last week, or that she was the innocent wife and 'last to know' regarding her husbands legal and moral transgressions. She has known what Bill Clinton was about from the beginning, and she struck a Faustian bargin with him so she could ride his coat tails to a position of power... this from a supposedly brilliant and emancipated 'Woman of the '90's', ostensibly the 'smartest woman on the planet?' The NY voters deserve better than such a woman (or man) of such spineless, gutless, complete lack of character and integrity representing them on the floor of Congress. And to those who would argue: "But he is her husband," I would suggest you search deep ask yourself if you (women) would stand by ANY man who had behaved as Bill Clinton has... even back to when he was Governor of Arkansas. The Long Island Railroad -- it would be worth your while to take the Long Island Railroad during a tour of our island (we have about 40% of the state's population and you seem to be ignoring us) on the Long Island Railroad. Frankly, it should be on the Register of Historic Places, but it is out of date. Its current configuration date to the late 1800's. Nothing of import has been added in the last one hundred years. It needs a complete infrastructure design with additional branches and additional lines. It needs to serve many more people. Mrs. Clinton, will you be willing to support legislation and financing for a complete restructuring of the rail transit system for Long Island. Our 8-plus million people could well use it. ]

Next Monday evening, Senator Bob Smith will announce to the New Hampshire media that he is resigning from the Republican party, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

He will also announce it the next day on the Senate floor.

According to sources, most of his Senate staff are extremely upset with this decision. The Senator, more than likely will serve out the remaining three years of his term and then retire. At that point, he will focus on defeating moderate Republicans, whom he will blame for 'the party leaving him.'

To that end, she's turning to Terry McAuliffe � the man who first hung the "for sale" sign out in front of the White House. McAuliffe, the Tony Coelho prodigy whose activities on behalf of the Clinton-Gore team and the Democratic National Committee have caught the attention of various congressional committees and grand juries, says he can raise $20 million for the First Lady. We don't doubt it. Al Gore, after all, calls him "the greatest fund-raiser in the history of the universe." McAuliffe earned that reputation by starting the ball rolling on the White House kaffeeklatches for big-money donors and writing the memo that inspired Bill Clinton to start selling weekends in the Lincoln Bedroom. But McAuliffe has also been linked to contribution trade-offs that are far more problematic. One of them came up last week, when U.S. Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt testified before the grand jury that is investigating whether he denied a casino license to three Wisconsin Chippewa tribes after three rival tribes agreed to contribute $270,000 tothe Clinton-Gore campaign. An attorney for the Chippewas has testified that Babbitt, his longtime friend, told him that he'd been ordered by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Harold Ickes to deny the license because the rival tribes were prepared to contribute up to $500,000 to the Clinton-Gore campaign. That same day, a lobbyist for the rival tribes wrote in his diary that he was about to launch the donation campaign, and outlined plans to contact McAuliffe and Ickes � who, obviously not coincidentally, is now Hillary Clinton's chief political counselor and strategist for the Senate campaign. McAuliffe also has been linked to an alleged money-laundering scheme to siphon Teamsters Union money to the 1996 re-election campaign of its president, Ron Carey � who switched his union's political loyalties from the Republicans to the Democrats. When the scheme was uncovered, Carey's election was overturned and he was barred from holding union office.

The centennial forum is quickly approaching. I have been hard at work for several days reviewing nearly every undeleted post ever written on the HRC Forum. If you have a favorite post of yours that you would like to have represented in the Centennial Forum, there are still a few spots left in that Forum. (about 4 or 5) Please tell me where to find your favorite posts.

I am not including any article reprints and I have not selected any posts that include personal attacks against other forum contributors. I have tried to fairly represent both sides while recognizing that this forum is owned by a liberal who supports Hillary Clinton. I have looked for clarity of thought, creativity and a variety of subject matter and genre in choosing posts. Your input is desired at this time before I upload the final product to the Editor for release no later that the development of Forum 98. Thank you very much.

TICA, N.Y. - In a move that could boost her chances to be elected senator from New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton has told a leading group of American Orthodox Jews that she favors making Jerusalem ''the eternal and indivisible capital'' of Israel.

Her sentiment, which goes against official US policy, could do much to reverse the negative attitude that many Jews have toward Clinton for a statement she made last year in support of a Palestinian state.

Sorry, though I am glad to she Hillary supports the official policies of the United States. She only had to ask Daniel Patrick Moynihan about it because he was one of the orginal sponsores of the Act.

Message: According to the Friday 7/9/99 Newsday page A7, Guiliani may have alienated 600,000 NYC HA tenants and many voters by ordering that hot water be turned off during the heat wave. This has been on radio and TV too. Guiliani is now trying to pass the blame on to people in the NYC HA.

I did not post criminal convictions, I posted criminal "behavior." You become upset over "nothing" (parody picture) and blindly endorse Hillary, so you must have the same political worldview as Hillary. I have no devotion to any particular politician. I am devoted to principles over the person. Personally I would like to see liberal socialist wanna-be politicians such as Hillary, Paul Wellstone and others follow their convictions (show a little honesty and integrity) and move to CUBA or CHINA.

Message: Mrs. Clinton I am a graduating senior here at the University of Memphis. I am also a resident of New York State, and I see you are very interested in being the Senator of New York. Personally I feel that you would be a great candidate. I say that because I watched your interview at Senator Moynihan's farm, on C-Span on July 7th and you stressed the importance of education, and healthcare. I can speak as a "New Yorker" as you called us, when I say that education is a very important issue in our state. I was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and I watched teenagers drop out of school at a large amount. I have two factors that against me, and that is one I am a female and two I am an African-American. Due to these two characteristics I have to worker harder than the next man, order to succeed. It would be an honor and at the same time I would be interested in knowing your future ideas for the excel of education for the State of New York.

Susan B. Anthony was a radical feminist, standing for women at a time when they were not allowed to vote. She viewed abortion as a means of exploiting both women and children:

"I deplore the horrible crime of child murder ... No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed ...but oh! Thrice guilty is he who drove her to the desperation which impelled her to the crime."

In her book Passion and Betrayal, Jennifer Flowers quotes Bill Clinton telling how "Hillary was attracted to women" (p.42), and didn't enjoy sex (Her high school newspaper predicted she'd become a nun, "Sister Frigidaire.")

Message: First, you have no proof of her alleged criminal behavior, as you call it, so your speculations and assumptions are non-entities and should be recognized as such. Second, you accuse me of "blind loyalty" and "co-dependence," yet you don't even know me. You only know what I write, ie., what you read about me. Is this how you gathered and collected your arsenal of accusations of Hillary's alleged criminal activies? Was it something you read? We should take into account the inherent difference between supporting a potential candidate who advocates your philosophies and principles and asserting accusations of criminal behavior all based on something we have read. Finally, what you perceive as blind loyalty and co-dependence is simply my endorsement of a person who espouses the same principles I have. Didn't you claim to value principles over people? Why sit your principles up on a shelf to gather dust when you can be proactive and place a person that will endorse your principles in a position to do so? I think you are being excessive when you claim that another's endorsement of a qualified political candidate is tantamount to blind loyalty and co-dependence. This reveals a narrowness of mind. I wouldn't endorse Hillary if I didn't agree with her on some key issues, didn't find her extremely intelligent, and didn't feel she was a person who has shown the capacity to be a real leader.

The doctor-patient privelege is a pretty major right in this country and there ain't no law that says you have to give every little tidbit of your history to every quack that treats your sniffly nose. He's the President for God's sake. Does that mean he gave up some kind of Right to Privacy because he won the election? Message: I did not vote for Mayor Giuliani because of several reports indicating that toward the end of his career as prosecuter he was overstepping his boundaries in the court room and cases were thrown out because of his agressiveness. As a life time New Yorker (I'm 55) I have seen the wonderful things he has done for the city but I also see a man who thinks he can do no wrong or worse can do as he pleases. I often wonder how muuch money he has cost the city in litigation regardifng issues such as prohibiting peaceful demonstrations on the steps of City Hall, the overstepping boundaries with city cab drivers and now saying he has the right to change the City Charter to prevent Mr., Green from succeeding him as Mayor if he decides to run and is elected Senator. I have tried to listen to him closely in the past 2 years regarging the severe problems with the Police Dept. ( I have family serving) and he cannot fathom not being right on each and every position he takes, refusing to meet with a NYC councilwoman (black) on this issue for over a year. BEWARE of the underlying message. Hillary keep focused on the issues and let the Gov. and Mayor keep attacking you on things that don't count (who your favorite baseball team really etc). They're both running scared and have yet to address any issue other than you weren't born in NY. You're going to win and make it better!!!! Ref BEWARE!!!!
