Message: The "good old boys club" is running scared, bullying is their order of the day. Thanks for offering the option of intelligence and execution of meaningful programs. We've all been "abused voters too long".

Another example that Hillary has no business representing New York is her complete lack of knowledge of the state. News reports, which will be posted once in print, make mention of this latest gaffe. Gloversville is an upstate town once known for manufacturing 99% of the gloves in the country. Refering to it as "Glovetown" is like referring to Hot Springs as as whoresville. She is making more gaffes than even algor the ozone hole. I'll bet she know where to shop in NYC for "large lady" clothes big enough to cover her tree trunk calfs.

Sleaze follows the Clintons as surely as summer follows spring, and the first real indication of its presence in the nascent Hillary Clinton campaign has surfaced in the improper conduct of White House Communications Director Ann Lewis.

Lewis will be writing a "substantial amount" of Hillary Clinton's campaign Web site - even as she continues to be paid as an employee of the federal government.

The dual role Lewis apparently intends to play as both West Wing staffer and Hillary campaign worker raises important legal questions about the use of the White House as a campaign base for the First Lady Candidate.

Campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson says Lewis has been working on the Web site "on her own time, using her own resources. No taxpayer equipment was used. No taxpayer funds were spent. It's totally appropriate."

Jim Kennedy of the White House Counsel's Office said Lewis' work is "perfectly lawful." Of course, this is a Clinton White House lawyer we're talking about here; when he says something perfectly lawful is going on, you can almost be sure the opposite is true.

The crux of the matter is whether Lewis is using the facilities of the White House in any way to further Mrs. Clinton's campaign goals. Lewis' free time is her own, but she cannot do the work in any publicly owned space or on any publicly owned equipment.

According to the 1978 Ethics in Govern-ment Act, "an employee has a duty to protect and conserve government property and shall not use such property, or allow its use, for other than authorized purposes."

The law says that "government property" includes "any form of real or personal property in which the government has an ownership, leasehold or other property interest as well as any right or other intangible interest that is purchased with government funds, including the services of contractor personnel. The term includes office supplies, telephone and other telecommunications equipment and services, the government mails, automated data-processing capabilities, printing and reproduction facilities ..."

Kennedy, the White House lawyer, has already given the game away by saying that "if there are any long-distance calls, [Lewis] can use a credit card." No, she can't, not out of her White House office. Kennedy appears to have confirmed, by this quote, that Lewis has already done so.

This is a significant issue, one that implicates Mrs. Clinton in the fast-and-loose way the Clinton White House plays with the law. The First Lady is on the verge of attempting an unprecedented run for office. She has every right to do so. But it is, and will be, illegal for Hillary Clinton to use either the personnel or the facilities of the White House in her quest for office.

The journalists in New York state should be aggressive in monitoring Hillary's campaign to ensure that Clinton sleaze does not permeate the upcoming U.S. Senate contest.

It seems that someone wrote a book about the rise and fall of a republic. That book contained one of my all-time favorite quotes. Here ‘tis:

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship.

"The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, and from dependency back into bondage."

The quote is from historian Alexander Frazier Tyler. He died in 1813, so he could hardly have been writing about the Republic of the United States. Actually, he was writing about Athenian Republic.

Is there one person reading his words who does not see a direct parallel to the United States at the end of the 20th Century? Do we have voters who have discovered that they can use their vote to plunder the pockets of others? You bet you sweet butkus we do. And do we have politicians who know just how to go out there and get those votes? Not only yes, but HELL yes. And what’s that about loose fiscal policies? Why, our national debt is increasing by $250 million each and every day, yet our politicians feed us the lie of a balanced budget and even a surplus!

The only debatable issue in Tyler’s statement is just what stage we have reached. I think we’re in the complacency/apathy stage myself.

Message: I can't define the feelings that I have concerning the Clintons. They are like a black hole that leaves you feeling empty and abused. They have no shame. They use the resources of the American people to better themselves without a blink. They took over 1,200 people with them on their two-week trip to China!! They look for people who are of the same vile nature to be faithful to them. How can the people of New York do anything but vomit when this woman comes in to their state?? They should be so repulsed as to deny her plane access to their airports. Hillary, you and your husband are demons. I do hope and pray that you aren't the "Beast" spoken about in Revelation. God save America.

Tell me what state does not want these things? Tell me in what ways Hillary Clinton has not had exposure to these needs and the complexities that are involved in working through the specific issues related to them? Before those of us who have been raised or live in New York decide out-of-hand that Hillary is unfit to hold a Senate seat, simply because she is not a "native", we should first be willing to at least consider what she does have to offer and decide if it is enough.

I also think Hillary would make a good Senator precisely BECAUSE she has been in Washington for 7+ years and knows how the Federal Govt. and the political system works. David - you are not a student of history are you? You may want to look up the term Federalist. The Federalists refers to advocates for the ratification of the United States Constitution (circa 1787). The Federalist advocated a STRONG central activist federal government - so your use of the term "Federalist" is factual incorrect (like most of your messages) and Federalist actually mean the exact opposite of what you claimed it means. First, I do not know if you have ever visited Long Island (part of New York State) or spent any real time here, but it is becoming quite crowded. Long Island consists of four counties (Brooklyn and Queens in New York City and Nassau and Suffolk outside of the city). If you judge the overcrowding of these four counties by the traffic on the Long Island Expressway, the Northern State Parkway, the Southern State Parkway, you will see that these counties have reached absolute saturation in their populations. These major thorofares and all the others are crowded 24 hours a day-seven days a week. If Long Island is to remain liveable, there will have to be some "limits" placed on the populations of these counties. Do you have any plans for limiting the overcrowding of Long Island while you are in the Senate. We need help. Long Island cannot absorb the current rate of imigration -- all of which seems to wind up on Long Island. While New York City has a transit system -- I suggest you ride it as much as possible during the election campaign -- it ends in Jamaica. From there, it is only buses on the overcrowded and potholed roads. The Long Island Railroad was put together in the late 1800's. It was never designed for the 20th century, much less the 21st century. It just does not provide any of the services that could keep cars off the road. As a Senator, do you plan to provide for MAJOR improvements in the inferstructure of the Long Island Railroad? People just jump in their cars for travel -- the Long Island Railroad just not go from here to there. I hope you have been able to keep up with the problems at the City University of New York. Both the state and city governments have cut funds to the City University of New York and then blamed the university for the failures due to the cuts in funds. What will you be doing for the City University of New York. By the way, the massive imigration to the New York City-Long Island area has placed enormous pressure on the City University of New York for remedial courses. Could the Federal government provide the funds needed by the imigration workload on the City University of New York.

Here is a woman whose ideas have failed, whose ideology is far from mainstream, and whose only claim to fame is a few criminal acts--acts which she was happy to let her friends take the fall for. I have one more thing to say. The purpose of congress is the representation of the people--not to further your own agenda. How can you represent a people you do not know? I have spent 1 year in one state and 3 years in another. In both of these cases, I was not a resident long enough to be an insider, or to fully understand the people, culture, and issues of those states. I couldn't possibly be as in tune with those people as I am with those in my home state. The point is, Hillary could not possibly be qualified to represent a people she will not have the opportunity to know before the election. The time she will spend there in the coming year will be of no use to her. The people she will most encounter will be of either political extreme, either already loving or hating her, and not many others.

Message: We need to recognize that we will not be electing President Clinton to the Senate. We will be electing an intelligent idividual who has educated herself about our state. Anyone who lives in New York and claims to know all the "ins and outs" of the state is a liar. Every elected official from the town council on up has had to do some learning along the way. We ask that every voter educate themselves on the canidates and their platforms before entering the voting booth. Why shouldn't we ask the canidates to educate themselves as well? So Hillary, go ahead and learn about our great state. If you are well educated on the needs of the constituents, it will not matter where you have lived before. I intend to support you in every way possible.

This forum is billed as an open forum loosely focused on Hillary Clinton. I started posting regularly on this forum about a year ago and while me and the Editor and other liberals on the forum have had our ups and downs - I think they really do like me (I think Witch Hazel wants me bad - but I digress).

When I first happened on the forum it was full of Ken Star-phobics and mean-spirited anti-conservative slogans (at least in my opinion) and I decided that, since it claims to be an open forum, I would stake my claim as a voice of opposition. Since them I - like many other here - I have become sort of an institution. Some say I veer off to deep end on occasions but nearly everybody that has been around awhile will (should - maybe I am wrong) say that I do research and usually know what I am talking about (they my disagree with my opinion or conclusions).
