WASHINGTON (AP) - With Whitewater officially over, Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr is trying to wrap up two other parts of his investigation - the White House travel office firings and accusations by presidential accuser Kathleen Willey, according to legal sources familiar with the probe.

Starr ended his nearly five-year Whitewater probe Wednesday by obtaining a pair of guilty pleas from presidential friend Webster Hubbell, who was sentenced to a year's probation by U.S. District Judge James Robertson, a Clinton appointee.

With Mrs. Clinton considering a Senate bid and no longer facing a possible court appearance at Hubbell's now-scuttled August trial, supporters of the president and first lady cheered the end of Whitewater.

``Ken Starr has finally acknowledged after all this time and all this money that there was never anything there in Whitewater, despite Republican accusations and innuendo over the last five years,'' former White House special counsel Lanny Davis said.

Starr now turns his attention elsewhere. Legal sources familiar with the investigation, speaking on condition of anonymity, said his office was dealing with:

-The 1993 purge of the White House travel office and whether Mrs. Clinton directed the firings. She says she did not.

-Nathan Landow, a Maryland developer and Democratic Party contributor. A recently released FBI polygraph report says Kathleen Willey, who has accused Clinton of groping her at the White House, has alleged that Landow suggested possible testimony she could give in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case. Landow denies any wrongdoing.

A defiant Hubbell, the former No. 3 official at the Justice Department, insisted Wednesday that ``what I pleaded to has nothing to do with Mrs. Clinton,'' even though the broadly worded felony charge to which he pleaded guilty accuses him of concealing legal work he and the first lady performed on a fraudulent Arkansas land project in the 1980s.

In the plea agreement, the single specific listed by Hubbell was failing to disclose a potential conflict of interest to federal regulators.

Starr prosecutor Robert Ray said in court that ``proof'' at a Hubbell trial would have reflected the concealment of work by ``the 1985-86 billing partner,'' a reference to Mrs. Clinton. Starr underscored that later, issuing a written statement saying the wide-ranging charge to which Hubbell pleaded guilty concerned his and ``Hillary Rodham Clinton's relationship'' with a real estate project. Federal regulators say it was riddled with sham transactions and fictitious land sales.

Hubbell also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of failing to pay income tax in a deal that also dropped tax charges against his wife, his accountant and his tax attorney.and all I had to do is plead guilty and admit Ken Starr was right all along

``After five years, it's over,'' Hubbell said outside the federal courthouse. ``The office of independent counsel has finally agreed to leave me, my family and my friends alone. And our lives can begin again.''

Starr said the guilty pleas ended the Arkansas phase of his investigation that looked at the Clintons' Whitewater real estate investment and other business and private dealings. He said he was trying to wrap up other aspects in an ``orderly fashion'' but that a federal grand jury was still looking into certain allegations.

Starr's efforts have resulted in convictions of 14 people, including the Clintons' Whitewater business partners James and Susan McDougal and then-Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, and led to the president's impeachment by the House last winter on charges related to the Monica Lewinsky sex and cover-up scandal. Clinton was acquitted by the Senate.

At Hubbell's sentencing that immediately followed his guilty pleas, Starr acknowledged that incessant criticism of his $40 million investigation played a role in his decision to reach a deal with the former associate attorney general. He told the judge that the controversy had ``found its way into the hearts and minds of prospective jurors'' and could have affected Hubbell's trial.

Starr also cited the end of the independent counsel law, which expired Wednesday because Congress did not renew it. Under a grandfather clause, Starr can keep investigating.

Bradley's Fund-Raising Reflects Serious Challenge

Second-quarter fund-raising reports released yesterday gave Vice President Gore a double dose of bad news: He now faces a serious primary challenge, and if he clears that hurdle, he must confront the long-term prospect of competing with a Republican rival who so far has demonstrated extraordinary fund-raising abilities.

Former senator Bill Bradley, already positioned as the only alternative to Gore for the Democratic nomination, collected $7.5 million over the past three months, to Gore's estimated $9 million. That impressive effort puts Bradley on track to meet his goal of pulling in between $20 million and $25 million by the end of the year and ensures he will have ample money to compete in the early nominating contests.

Gore's chief Republican rival, George W. Bush, already has raised more money -- an astonishing $36.2 million -- than he is allowed to spend in the primaries if he plans to receive federal matching funds. With so much money already in hand, it seems nearly certain he will forgo matching funds so he can spend unlimited amounts throughout the election.

In between visits with corporate executives in Manhattan yesterday, Gore said he was satisfied with the estimated $18.2 million he raised in the first half of 1999. But he hinted -- and his aides asserted more firmly -- that his campaign will attempt to portray Bush as a man of privilege relying on special-interest money to fuel his candidacy.

"I believe in campaign finance reform," Gore told reporters, obliquely referring to the likelihood that Bush will opt out of the federal system.

The disappointing fund-raising developments came sandwiched between other ominous signs for Gore. In recent weeks, his campaign message has been mostly overshadowed by the side drama of Gore's attempts to distance himself from the personal morals of President Clinton and whether that has caused tensions between the two men.

"We're losing the PR game," said one Gore adviser.

On Capitol Hill, meanwhile, two prominent Democrats, Sens. Bob Kerrey (Neb.) and Daniel Patrick Moynihan (N.Y.), were considering whether to endorse Bradley, said an aide to one of the two senators. Both lawmakers recently met with Bradley to discuss that possibility.

The public face of the Gore campaign, deputy chairwoman Marla Romash, suggested Bradley had peaked financially: "Bradley had about as good a quarter as he's going to have."

But privately Gore supporters were more circumspect.

"Bradley raised almost eight [million dollars] this time and we did about nine [million]," one Gore fund-raiser said. "That's what the campaign is panicking about."

Anthony Corrado, a campaign finance expert at Colby College, said Bradley will have the resources to get his message out, and because Bradley is the only alternative to Gore, he will be able to wage a lower-cost campaign.

Although national polls show the vice president well ahead in the nomination contest, a survey last month in New Hampshire gave Gore just an 11-point lead over Bradley and a new Boston Globe poll indicates the two are in a statistical dead heat in Massachusetts.

Referring to Gore, Boston Democratic consultant Mary Ann Marsh said: "It doesn't seem like the guy can get a break. He really needs to break away and change the dynamic; he needs a landscape-altering event."

The Gore team hopes to get a financial boost in the fall when Clinton hits the money circuit on the vice president's behalf. Yet the one mail solicitation Clinton sent this spring fell far short of expectations, according to two sources inside the Gore campaign.

Even assuming Gore gets past Bradley, the fund-raising reports indicate Bush will have so much money that he can start focusing on the general election much sooner than Gore.

"The thing that is anxiety-provoking is this accelerated general election we've been thrust into by George W. Bush's huge fund-raising capacity and his ability to dominate the Republican field," said California Democrat Bill Carrick, expressing fears Bush will be able to target Gore far earlier in the campaign.

In 1996, Robert J. Dole secured the GOP nomination but found himself with less than $2 million for the critical five-month stretch leading up to his convention. The Clinton-Gore team, with no primary opposition, squirreled away about $19 million and spent the money relentlessly attacking Dole on the airwaves.

As a result, Dole curtailed his travel and ran no advertisements, said his former campaign manager Scott Reed. "But the worst part was it put a cloud over the campaign that was very difficult to get out from underneath until we got our money at the convention."

One Gore strategist, mulling that very problem, said yesterday that he worries Bush will be so well-financed that he will start targeting key general election states such as New Jersey, Ohio and California as early as March.

"I don't know how we counteract that," he said. "Can we blow the caps and can we get away with it when we have a primary opponent talking about campaign finance reform?"

Romash argued that Gore and Bush are on equal footing because both are about halfway to meeting their fund-raising goals.

"Republicans almost always have more money," she said, acknowledging that was not the case in 1996. "Democrats win because they have better ideas and stronger candidates."

Many of the figures used by the Clinton administration and NATO to describe the wartime plight of Albanians in Kosovo now appear greatly exaggerated as allied forces take control of the province.

"Yes, there were atrocities. But no, they don't measure up to the advance billing," says House intelligence chairman Porter Goss, R-Fla.

Instead of 100,000 ethnic Albanian men feared murdered by rampaging Serbs, officials now estimate that about 10,000 were killed.

600,000 ethnic Albanians were not "trapped within Kosovo itself lacking shelter, short of food, afraid to go home or buried in mass graves dug by their executioners" as President Clinton told a veterans group in May. Though thousands hid in Kosovo, they are healthy.

Kosovo's livestock, wheat and other crops are growing, not slaughtered wholesale or torched as widely reported.

Kenneth Bacon, spokesman for Defense Secretary William Cohen, says the best estimates available were used.

He says Cohen was right to compare Serb leader Slobodan Milosevic to a World War II Nazi. His forces burned houses and made 800,000 Albanians flee for their lives, he says.

And if other war crimes turn out less than expected, "I don't think you can say killing 100,000 is 10 times more morally repugnant than killing 10,000," Bacon says.

Then why exaggerate? "In order to justify this thing, they needed to tap that memory of the Holocaust," says Andrew Bacevich, professor of International Relations at Boston University.

Meanwhile, food and medical aid programs in Kosovo are taking a back seat while the United Nations rushes to assemble a police force.

The "missing men" -- young Albanians who were believed killed -- are home with no jobs. NATO forces are struggling to keep them from seeking retribution.

The changing numbers in the province raises questions. Goss, who opposed the bombing campaign, says the administration deliberately emphasized the most dire reports. "There is a credibility question with President Clinton and his administration on these matters," he says.

Mike Hammer, spokesman for the National Security Council, says there was no effort to mislead. The administration found that "as you go through a campaign like this, there is a great deal of uncertainty."

Even lower numbers justify action, he says. "We needed to move because of the campaign of ethnic cleansing that could not be allowed to stand."

Paul Risley of the U.N. tribunal that indicted Milosevic says the portrayal of Kosovo as a wasteland shows the lack of good information during the war. "This was a trip-up of the Western media and the Western governments."

Ken Starr has been the must successful Independent Council EVER! Ken Starr succeeded in about 95% of all his endeavors (a record most prosecutor only dream of). Ken Starr said there was evidence of wrong doing that warranted impeachment of the President - Ken Starr was Correct and Bill Clinton was impeached by a legally elected congress. Nothing small about it - Ken Starr kicked major butt!

Ken Starr's job was to see if their was wrong doings - there were - Ken Starr presented his finding to Congress and the legally elected Congress impeached him. Message: Well, Kenny did find a half dozen instances of tax evasion based on Whitewater. Kenny got three out of four major players to agree to testify against the Clintons (the fourth merely refusing to say anything). Hillary did get caught with subponaed records.

Is all this enought to indict? Yes, but is it enough to convict. I don't know. Conviction requires a high standard of proof in the courts. But ask yourself, Hazel, do you think that it is more likely than not that Clinton was part of a land fraud deal with Hale and the McDougals?

Read the Clinton Articles of Impeachment - not once is the word sex mention and none of the charges are "sex scandal". Message: We remember your president as a most dynamic man, with enduring strength and stamina, whose many faults included having a fling with a voluptuous intern and then lying about it.

We understand, as history has always understood, that humans have to lie about certain things, and lying about sex is one of them. Perple forgive what they see in themselves, and a lot of us have been down that road. As with Hubbell we will forgive him, and he will be free from being "a fire hydrant surrounded by dogs" as Clinton sometimes sees himself.

Centennial Forum Ideas Compliments of Root Beer

1) Get rid of the e-mail area. No one uses it anyway. In 1994 when you began this forum, people actually felt that e-mail was an anonymous means of communication. Now with the increase in means to trace ISP and internet spam for porn, people are increasingly protective of their e-mail address. I suggest you do not even intimate you want it. You couldn't possibly have time to do anything with it anyway. I would suggest you might call this SUBJECT(optional)in the tradition of an e-mail. Perhaps if you called the Name area NAME (optional) as well you may have just a couple of people less who feel compelled to enter a name when they are stealing monikers.

2) Change the background to a nice, calm, extremely light blue. The background colors you use contains a good deal of yellow which is a color of conflict. We have enough trouble with that around here.

3) Keep up the good work on the more professional looking boxes referring one to the next forum. In this tradition perhaps you could fix the things in the heading that are broken and have been for 50 forums or so.

4) Instead of the forum being called Hillary_Clinton_Forum, perhaps you could get out your paint shop pro and make us up a really snazzy picture gif that says Hillary Clinton Forum across the top. I can't emphasize how much I believe the people on the forum will behave in a more professional manner if the forum has a very professional appearance.

5) If you truly desire to support Hillary Clinton for Senator of New York, I would suggest a lead-in campaign slogan that has more to do with reasons why Hillary might actually make a good Senator. I don't believe her sexiness or lack thereof have much to do with why the majority of her constituency might vote for her. It is really an insult to the voters and Hillary Clinton to suggest that her being "the sexiest woman alive" has anything whatsoever to do with her qualifications as a senator. It also tends to be rather an inflammatory statement as well to enter the forum to that message or any as unprofessional as that one regardless of their content. This lends itself to the craziness that occurs at regular intervals on this forum> I believe, at least some of, it would not occur if the Liberals, Democrats, Left, whatever you call yourselves (no offense intended) did not have the upper hand in instigating difficulties with the header. There is nothing wrong with supporting Hillary if that is your opinion, but you might find you draw more intelligent, less disturbed discussion if you did not lead in with it.

History will remember Bill Clinton as the worst president of this century. Clinton killed nationalize medicine (a liberal dream killed by a so-called liberal) - Clinton presented a disaster of a budget in 1993 that included the largest tax increase in the history of this country yet it yielded and forecasted 200 billion a year deficits (higher than the highest deficits of the Reagan era) to the year 2000 (At the time Clinton said balancing the budget before 2000 would ruin our economy and once again he was wrong). Clinton's actions made the American people throw the Democrat party out of control of congress (they controlled it for 40 years)(not to mention hundreds of elected Democrats have abandoned the party to become Republicans - 3 did it this week). Clinton has single handedly devastated the Democrat party, in the last 3 elections the Republican have WIN in every national category(except President), something that was unthinkable before Clinton, and the upcoming elections are shaping up to be a complete sweep for the Republicans (they may control EVERYTHING and even I am not sure that is a good idea). Clinton wins on propaganda - but the Republicans have won everything else. Clinton then became a born-again conservative taking credit for everything the Republican congress accomplished (balanced budget, welfare reform, etc). Clinton then lied under oath to avoid justice and when he was caught he went on television and lied to the American people while shaking his bony finger at us. He them went on a 7 month, 7 million dollar campaign of lies and personal character assignations only to admit he was lying all along.

History will show that Clinton was the most self-serving president ever. Clinton was willing to kill people to divert attention - he fund and directed a McCarthy-style campaign of terror and character assignation against his enemies, and quibbled over the meaning of the word "is" in his tangled web of lies.

Once the taxpayer funded Clinton propaganda machine is flushed from the White House - history will give Clinton his just reward. History will sum it up this way: Clinton - NEVER AGAIN!

Message: If Hillary was running against Rudy for mayor of New York I would vote for Rudy. It's important for me, and most other people to live in safety. Anyone who can bring the crime down has my vote. I would do without a lot of perks in exchange for peace.

But Hillary is not running for mayor of New York, and Rudy's talent and expertise in fighting street crime may not translate to fighting the crimes arising from many of our politically and morally bankrupt leaders on Capitol Hill. We are a global economy and as such we need the mental equipment and practical experience to know how to operate in that world. Does Rudy have it? So my suggestion is that Rudy stay in New York and save the lives of thousands of New Yorkers, while Hillary goes to Washington to save the lives of our children, our elderly, the bankruptcy laws, fighting the HMOs, reforming our schools, and much more. This way both constituencies are well served.

I will be as nice possible in my retort. This liberal poster obviously does not understand much about our system of government. First, Giuliani only has one "n" in it (not being able to spell his name makes your play on the spelling of his name look pretty foolish). Second, while most see Giuliani as the savior of New York City (under his direction crime is way down and the city has been dramatically cleaned) but if you want to call him a dictator - the best he could be is dictator of New York City (he is the Mayor of New York City and therefore has no authority over anything outside of New York City). Third and most important, Hillary and Giuliani are likely going to run for the Senate - a Senator represents a state in the Congress (federal government). A Senator DOES NOT control a state or even have ANY authority over a State - State government and federal government are completely separate (by design). Therefore, a Senator COULD NOT be a dictator over a state because a Senator DOES NOT have any authority over the state. The state government of New York is setup is such a way that a dictator would be IMPOSIBLE.

If you want to support Hillary for Senate - DANDY - but stick to reality in your support. You reason for supporting Hillary is ludicrous, completely factually incorrect, and intellectually null and void.

Why can't Hillary supporters use her RECORD as support for her candidacy (maybe because she has little to no experience or record because she has NEVER held elected office and what government experience she does have (Hillary Heath Care) was a dismal failure)? Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army. One had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists, eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters.

He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart. Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.

Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."

They gave you and me a free and independent America. The history books never told you a lot of what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't just fight the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government! Some of us take these liberties so much for granted ... We shouldn't.

So, take a couple of minutes while enjoying your Fourth of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

The first place the opposition looks is at military and college records and in one fell swoop, Mr. Bush's entire youth is being questioned because he was a Bush and the son of a prominent leader.

Now let's just look at the facts here. How was Mr. Bush supposed to get around being the son of the President, or if not yet the President, then the son of a prominent family? Does one not think that just because he is a Bush, that the powers that be would be more likely to simply watch him. Perhaps the Washington Post could bother to report the whole story, instead of just bits and pieces arranged in the most incriminating style possible. But wait! No, that would not be the way American elections work would it? The press has to make us wade through tons and tons of the most incriminating garbage possible to get to the truth.

After the incriminating headline, the report goes on, buried in the body of the story (in the usual tradition of the press) to say that, maybe, just maybe, Mr. Bush might have shown promise as a pilot on his own.

...and the election is underway, I think I'll go take a nap until January 2001. Does anyone know where I can get a subscription to an election coverage journal that will address the facts only? Ha ha...yeah I knew it. It's published on Venus at an outrageous cost that not even Ross Perot (I hope he can manage to keep his pointy little head out of this election to prevent the total skewing of the results like he did when Clinton got re-elected. Message: I am blessed to live near one of our nation's great resources. The Wildlife Refuge is one of the few ways that we give back to nature on it's own terms. I like to drive through the Refuge several times a week. I often see deer, snakes, birds, turtles, alligators, armadillos, opossum, fish, bobcat, fox, and occasional other creatures. I never cease to be amazed at the awe I feel at these beautiful animals simple needs to survive in life. This morning I drove through the Refuge on my way back from that all important 4th of July purchase: Fireworks. As soon as I entered the Refuge I was treated to the sight of a doe and her fawn grazing in a luscious green pasture. Upon seeing my big green truck, they both darted for the nearby woods. It caused me to think of the simple rules with which animals in nature rear their young. Not so different rules would bode well for humans. The doe darted for the woods and the fawn followed instantaneously. Humans would do well to remember this simple rule in wondering how to cure our culture of violence that is the generation of children that we are seeing now. It really isn't all that hard. These children became violent by seeing violence. Those who see it from their parents are most likely to become violent. They do as the little fawn following the doe into the woods to escape perceived danger. But children also learn from all of us. Today's technological society exposes children to the influence of more people than ever before. It really does take a whole village to raise a child, whether we like it or not. And the village in today's world has a huge population. Do you conduct yourself in a manner that you would like to see the adults of tomorrow emulate?

Amond its 50 members, the liberal or liberal-leaning deputies will hold 14 seats, up from four in the parliament that was dissolved in May. Most are expected to back an emri decree that would allow women to vote and hold office beginning in 2003. Their support, along with that of pro-government candidates, probably will be enough to override Islamic opposition to the edict.

But Kuwaiti analysts and Western deplomats said a victory for women's rights is not yet guaranteed. The idea of political rights for women is still controversial in Kuwait, and even liberals who favor the idea may prefer to score points by standing up to the royally appointed government.

Man had the right to abuse and disfigure his wife to his content, just not to kill her. That would not have been good for the family. Then who would have done the cooking and cleaning.

No, Richard when you quote your pat sayings about Liberals and Conservatives you are looking at the differences akin to two different planets when you discuss women and men. Don't settle into Conservatism in your 30's as though it is somehow a rite of passage into the leisure of old age. I was a liberal and intellectual awakening turned me conservative (sometimes a bit more libertarian then conservative). Aside from the fact that I am a human being, not any psychiatric diagnosis, many individuals afflicted with BiPolar Disorder have difficulties with psychotic episodes, something I feel priveleged to have never experienced. Individuals with BiPolar Disorder are some of the luckier ones however, LVD, in the realm of psychiatric illnesses, since BiPolar Disorder is a strictly chemical disorder which is rather easily controlled with medication provided one is able to take the medication. Individuals who are afflicted with BiPolar Disorder, LVD, are not loonies and have no more control over the fact that they have this illness than do diabetics or epileptics. BiPolar Disorder is a physical illness that manifests itself in the mood center of the brain with symptomology involving the affect of an individual, thus it's treatment by a psychiatrist. Many individuals that are diagnosed with BiPolar disorder are also afflicted with such because of an irregularity in the EEG (a measure of brain waves) and as such also require the joint care of a neurologist. My best friend, however, LVD, is diagnosed with BiPolar Disorder. She is currently working on her Ph.D. and has worked for many years helping individuals write grants to help children who must live outside of their home because of abuse and/or neglect. She is a very intelligent woman and nowhere in her life does she appear to be a loony. She is a well-respected member of the work force. I also have a friend who is an M.D. and has a diagnosis of BiPolar Disorder. She is a very competent professional to whom I have never had a problem entrusting my health care. She is also a excellent wife and mother to her family and has always appeared to me to balance the difficult roles that every working mother faces extremely well.

It's the judging part I had a problem with in the first place LVD, so that really isn't that surprising that you would feel that way.

That's a pretty wacky statement - how do you exist without judging? Judging examples: How soon should I put on the brakes - Is it a good idea to have 3 Martinis with lunch - Is that dog vicious - Are the politicians telling the truth. Without "judging" - you become a mere follower that blinding accepts and believes everything your leader/master tells you. If you remove the ability to judge than you become an intellectual neuter - you are incapable of deductive reasoning because you must "judge" to be deductive or to reason at all. In robotics judgement has been the most illusive attribute and because of this many believe that judgement is the single attribute that separates thinking and non-thinking entities.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You don't have the right to demand that our children risk their lives in foreign wars to soothe your aching conscience. We hate oppressive governments and won't lift a finger to stop you from going to fight if you'd like. However, we do not enjoy parenting the entire world and do not want to spend so much of our time battling each and every little tyrant with a military uniform and a funny hat.

ARTICLE IX: You don't have the right to a job. All of us sure want all of you to have one, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE X: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to pursue happiness -- which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an overabundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

No, not really. I see its point though (I think that is only ONE of the reasons for out societal decay and our current violent, disregard for the sanctity of human life zeitgeist.

When I think of Conservatives I always see that image and am in awe as to your "intellectual awakening." What do we pea-brained, pagan Liberals know about God and the workings of the Universe.

But since you liberals are obsessed with religion - I am currently an agnostic - I grew up Methodist and converted to Latter Day Saint for a short time about 13 years ago (two very attractive female missionaries were instrumental in my short-lived Mormon phase).

When two people share carnal knowledge - they are participating in THE activity that creates babies so when someone becomes pregnant after having sex it is really had to call it an accident. Not to mention you are missing the point - the statement "life is an accident" is referring to hard-line, Darwinist extremists who believe there is absolutely no order to the universe and that everything necessarily was an accident - this is the cosmological theory of happenstance (what created the universe - it just happen!).

3. People are evolved animals.
Right again conservatives - People are animals that are not yet evolved.

This response is beyond me - I have not idea what you are trying to say.

4. Millions of years of violence, suffering....brought humans into existence.
Right again - Millions of humans still bring violence and suffering into existence.

Say what? Who are these millions of people bring violence and suffering?

5. There is no God.
Right again - God is within.

That statement makes absolutely no sense - it is illogical. If there is no God, how could it be within (how can a nonexistent thing be anywhere?).

6. The Bible is not true
Right again - absolutely every word is true.

7. If you remove the Bible, prayer and the Ten Commandments from school it will blow up!

Open your mind my Liberal friend - IMHO this statement refers to spirituality (the idea that the individual is NOT the center of the universe). This country is something like 80%+ Christian so that is our spiritual focus - but take any other country and suck their spirituality (whatever it may be) out of the schools and the result would be the same. After serious consideration, America's major TV networks have taken a pass on making a movie on the life of Hillary Rodham Clinton, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

The project, based on David Brock's book THE SEDUCTION OF HILLARY RODHAM, was shopped to the majors -- with actress Susan Sarandon, at one point, expressing interest in the title role!

CBS-TV passed on the project after one detailed pitch meeting last year, according to sources.

[It was believed that CBS president Les Moonves' close relationship with the Clintons was at conflict.]

The pitch quickly moved to ABC, where, after a series of meetings, things looked like a possible go.

Actress Holly Hunter was even considered a runner-up to play Hillary Clinton if Sarandon became unavailable for the project, proposed as a possible mini-series.

But ABC also ended up cooling on the idea of making a movie on the life of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Several negative factors were working against the project:

*The perception that political movies turn audiences off [BULWORTH, PRIMARY COLORS].

*The controversy of developing a movie based on the first lady of the United States while she is still living in the White House.

But in Hollywood, what is down one season -- turns up the next.

As the nation's media is hopelessly addicted to covering Hillary's campaign run for the U.S. Senate [two front page stories on HRC in the WASHINGTON POST in the past 4 days; magazine covers; Sunday morning shows reaching complete saturation on the topic] -- new interest in the Hillary movie could follow.

It is not my belief that God and religion have anything to do with one another. I believe God is everything and because it is everything it is also nothing. God is relevant and irrelevant, full and empty, whole and part. God is an unimaginable entity which our mere mortal minds, worthy as we may try to make them, are utterly and totally incapable of understanding, let alone quantifying. The assumption, of course, is that this is what God is to me. I have complete and full respect for God because of its complete totality in the Universe. I also have complete and total respect for you to believe whatever about God that makes you feel comfortable and at ease with this concept. I also have a very difficult time believing in the concept of heaven and hell, however, I accept that this may be because of the limitations which my mere mortal mind must deal with in it's very limited capability to understand anything in the Universe.
