We are not guaranteed the "Right to Bear Cars" in the Constitution.
The Government has no right to know how many or what kind of guns I care to
own. If they have those records they can effectively confiscate all of the
law abiding citizen's weapons whenever they decide to. Do you really
think it's wise to give them that ability?
I have a better suggestion; Require those who wish to own firearms to pass an approved Training Course. This course would be provided free or at a very small fee. This course would cover Safety, Maintenance and the Law regarding Guns. This course would NOT be provided by the Federal Government. There should be several competing courses offered by different companies and/or organizations. I might even back a more comprehensive Training Course that included combat tactics and training for those who wish to be licenced to carry a concealed weapon in their county/state. All of these things would be best done at the state level. If the Feds can be kept out of this completely we'll all be better off.
This approach helps law abiding citizens and makes criminals nervous. It doesn't penalize law abiding citizens just because they want to own a gun. It helps insure that citizens who choose to be armed are educated in the safe and effective use of their firearms. And best of all, it keeps the Feds out of my private business.
More guns in the hands of trained, law abiding citizens will (and always did) reduce violent crime.
And one last suggestion; let's start enforcing all the gun laws on the books before we go making any new ones (that won't work either)...

Well, it is very nice that Hillary went a shook the shildren's hands and kissed the babies for the Kosovo refugees arriving in this country. It is also extremely admirable that Jesse Jackson secured the release of the Prisoners of War in the "Kosovo Konflict". However, neither of these actions negates the basic idiots that the actioners are. Even the most immoral person appears moral once in awhile. The dumbest person says something smart once in awhile. The ugliest person appearz handsome in just the right light. The fattest chick looks a lot slimmer in the right outfit. Are you getting the point here? Message: I have bad news for you Zippy. Since the Littleton massacre gun control is gaining acceptance. While we have a constitutional right to bear arms, we do not have the right to bear unregistered arms.
Your argument about the government knocking on every door and confiscating our weapons is anachronistic. Those days are over. There are 260 million people in this country. Where would the government get that much manpower to confiscate that many guns. Be practical. And even if the government tried to confiscate our arms, we would be so up in arms that the government would be forced to stop. If we can stop the war in Vietnam and Kosovo, we can easily stop the government from confiscating our guns.
What good would training do to stop crime? Those two Littleton killers and most of the other school killers were sharp-shooters. We have a right to drive a car, but we do not have a right to drive an unregistered car.

Message: I don't know if you saw this episode that I was in, but years ago when hijacking planes was still a new phenomenon, and we did not have the technology we have now to counteract it, I came up with a terrific idea on my show how we could protect ourselves against hijackers. The reason why I am telling you this is because it's exactly the same philosophy the "Hidden-Guns" group advocates, of which Zippy, Minglewood and the NRA are charter members.
According to the Hidden-Guns group, the more guns in the hands of "the people" the better... And the better trained they are the better. Well, I agree. I think every adult should have a gun and be trained to shoot to kill. We must not maim our victims because we are not trained and can't shoot straight. If we maim our victims, or miss entirely, we are as good as dead. It makes good sense. Kill first before they kill you.
Now, I came up with a very good idea to stop hijacking on planes. You just hand everyone who boards the plane a gun, and take the guns away when they get off. If everybody on the plane has a gun the criminals will be VERY "NERVOUS" as Minglewood rightly pointed out. No decent, self-respecting hijacker would hijack a plane if everybody on board has a gun.
That philosophy works the same way on land. If the government supplied every adult in every house a gun and taught them how to kill, the criminals would get very nervous. Minglewood is absolutely right. A chicken in every pot and a gun for every adult. You got that right, Minglewood.

Message: Dear Ms. Clinton: How wonderful the internet is to allow me to type my thoughts to the first lady! (I know the mail may allow me to do the same, but this seems so much more personal and immediate.) My subject is the Colorado tradegy. My first thought when I heard the news has haunted me since. Why didn't an adult in the school know about these kids and do something? Everybody seemed to know there was a problem with these kids and the group they belonged to. Straight to my suggestion: Instead of only plain couselors in the schools, how about a Yenta? Someone who's main occupation is to irritate, investigate, question, and mostly care about the personal lives of the students. True, it would be violating the young people's civil rights. But in every instance I have heard young people talking about this tradegy, they have said the same thing "how come the administration didn't do anything?" They all wonder where the "adults" were and why we didn't protect them. I wonder too. Enough time spent giving young people their "space"; along with a little space, immature people need a lot of attention, guidance and especially caring. Everyone is saying "how could this have been prevented?" I believe that If someone had said: a. "what are you playing on that computer?" b. "you seem a little alienated from the other kids, what's going on?" c. "I need to search your locker. It's a procedure to keep you kids safe" d. "what does the swastika mean? And why are you wearing that overcoat when it's so hot?" it might have meant a huge difference. Just that someone is paying attention means so much to all of us. I raised a little girl (not mine) from the age of 3 to 9, she then went back to live with her mother. She and I had dinner when she was thirteen and the subject of my overseeing came up. I sheepishly appologized for being so involved in her life and friends and school and generally for being so hard on her. She said, "better that than being ignored."

Perspective of a MM concert:
At the height of the concert, he magically reappeared dressed in a red shirt and a black coat and tie. The stage and podium were draped in huge red banners, deliberately designed to evoke the image of the Nazi swastika. [In place of the swastika symbol, Manson uses a jagged, downward arrow - the universal warning sign for hazardous materials - which Manson's fans consider the sign of the Anti-Christ. Yugoslavia Says Refugees Are Actors

Now, the Yugoslav government says those terrified women and children, exhausted and confused old men and women, and farmers and fathers clinging to the steering wheels of overburdened tractors are just actors.
The government laid out its claim Monday, outlining a NATO-directed, American-produced ``screenplay'' in which thousands of ethnic Albanians were paid to traipse in a vast circle beginning and ending in Kosovo.
This ``Wag the Dog'' scenario was laid out, complete with slides and videos, at a briefing by Goran Matic, minister without portfolio.
The Yugoslav government has long claimed NATO bombs and missiles, not its own police and paramilitary units, are to blame for the worst refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. But Matic went a step further, outlining what he called a ``big production'' that would do credit to Hollywood.
He said 3,000 to 4,000 ethnic Albanians were paid $5.50 each to act the parts of Kosovo refugees during the first 10 days of the NATO airstrikes on Yugoslavia.
They traveled to Macedonia, then on to Albania, then to the Yugoslav republic of Montenegro and then back to Kosovo province, marching in a circle so as to seem like vast numbers of people on the run, he said.
The ``main directors'' of this production, he said, were the U.S. government and the CIA, assisted by the media. Their motive was to carve up Serbia and take Kosovo province away, he said.
According to Matic, the production began to falter when the ``actors'' weren't paid and tried to go home. He claimed NATO created a real refugee crisis when it tried to deter them from returning by bombing refugee convoys, buses and trains heading back to Kosovo.
NATO's message, he said, was: ``We need empty spaces for our occupation troops.''
Matic illustrated his briefing with photos of burned and mangled bodies, twisted wreckage and a map entitled ``Albanians in Circles.''
Matic also disputed alliance estimates of the number of refugees -- now at 700,000 -- quoting Mark Twain as saying ``these are lies, damn lies and statistics.''
``Most of these estimates we have heard are somewhere between lies and statistics,'' he said, without offering any counter-estimates from his government.
He did, however, dispute the number of ethnic Albanians who lived in Kosovo before the conflict, shaving nearly a million people from the generally accepted number of 1.8 million, or about 90 percent of Kosovo's population.
The briefing also featured a video Matic said showed Serb police and soldiers helping dig injured ethnic Albanians from the rubble of a NATO attack.
``This is the only truth that exists in Kosovo,'' he said.

The plan has been dubbed "Operation Cyber Smile" and will be paid for through a special tax that Gore plans to collect from the phone bills of American citizens. Responding to criticism of the new phone bill tax Gore told BNN, "Something needed to be done to brighten the lives of these sad and oppressed people. Those who are complaining about the cost are selfish. Americans should be proud that I have given them an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the Kosavar refugees."

By Mike Head 10 May 1999 After two days of varied official accounts, the least credible explanation for Friday night's NATO bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade is that it was a pure accident. On Sunday, a US official in Washington told news agencies that the CIA had simply supplied inaccurate information, wrongly identifying the embassy as a Yugoslav weapons warehouse. It was the fourth version of events produced within several hours. Initially NATO's spokesman Jamie Shea told reporters on Saturday that NATO pilots had mistaken the building for a legitimate military target and then hit it with precision-guided weapons. But several hours later, at possibly the most hostile NATO news briefing in Brussels since the bombing began, Major General Walter Jertz said the error had been made in the initial target selection process. Jertz said the embassy had been mistaken for the Yugoslav Directorate of Supply and Procurement, a military supply facility. When pressed, he said there was no evidence that NATO maps were inaccurate or out of date, neither was there any evidence that NATO intelligence was inaccurate. Asked if NATO knew where embassies were located in Belgrade, he replied: "Yes, of course we know where the embassies are." Shea then switched his story, saying a "review of procedures" had identified a "mistake" in the target selection process. He quoted a joint statement issued at midnight Saturday US time by US Defence Secretary William Cohen and CIA Director George Tenet, which exonerated the pilots and NATO equipment. "The extensive process in place to select and validate targets did not correct the original error," the statement said. Finally came the claim of CIA culpability. Another unnamed US official referred to "stale information" as the source of the error. It is virtually impossible to give any credence to these accounts. The Chinese embassy has been housed at its present location for four years. Its site was clearly marked on tourist maps that are on sale internationally, including in the English language. The embassy was well known to many journalists, diplomats and other visitors to Belgrade. Its address is listed in the Belgrade telephone directory. For the CIA to have made such an elementary blunder is simply not plausible. Apart from publicly-available maps, US intelligence agencies have access to satellite reconnaissance and other high-technology surveillance, for which some $29 billion is budgetted annually. Furthermore, one is meant to believe that such an error went unchecked through an exhaustive target selection, verification and authorisation process. Published accounts indicate that targets are largely identified by the US military, sometimes using information supplied by the CIA as part of its validation process. Targets are nominated at the Aviano airforce base in Italy, verified at NATO headquarters in Belgium, designated on lists sent to the Pentagon for confirmation and then sent to Washington and other NATO capitals for authorisation. By some reports, US resident Clinton personally approves targets in Belgrade. Numerous military experts have told Western news outlets that the CIA could not have been the sole source of target information. Robert Gaskin, a US air force officer who helped select targets during the 1990-91 Gulf War, told the Los Angeles Times: "We would always make sure we had at least two sources of information on the targets. You can't afford to make a mistake like this." Other sources said planning each target involves dozens of officers in Europe and the US who collect intelligence, calculate the risk of civilian casualties, decide which munitions to use and mark the Designated Mean Point of Impact (DMPI) where the bomb would do the most damage. Moreover, if the attack on the embassy were a "tragic mistake" as Clinton and other NATO leaders insisted, one would expect at least a pause in the bombing or even a narrowing of targets to ensure that the error was not repeated. More so, perhaps, because the embassy tragedy was the latest in a strong of supposed "collateral damage" incidents, including the dropping of cluster bombs that killed more than a dozen people at a hospital and market in Nis on Friday. Instead, the bombing of Belgrade and other major Yugoslav cities reached a new intensity on Saturday and Sunday nights. NATO jets hit targets in Kragujevac, wounding 13 people in the city 100 km south of Belgrade, targetted a railway station near Kraljevo in central Serbia, fired two missiles at the main highway between Belgrade and Nis, and attacked another bridge over the Danube in downtown Nis. One aspect of the official accounts of the embassy bombing has remained unexplained. If the embassy building were indeed mistaken for the Directorate of Supply and Procurement, why was it only selected as a target last Friday, in the seventh week of NATO's air assault? If it were an identifiable military target why had it not already been hit during one of the 18,000 bombing missions against Yugoslavia? The question has to be asked: given that the targetting was almost certainly deliberate, why was the embassy bombed? It came just days after the G8 foreign ministers summit had produced a draft agreement ostensibly aimed at cutting short the war, and amid intensive activity by the German and Russian administrations to fashion a deal that could be concluded with the Milosevic government. An agreement based on the G8 model was due to be put to the UN Security Council, where China holds a veto vote. Just a day after the bombing, one US newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer, published a report that Pentagon planners feared that the Clinton administration was so eager to settle the Yugoslav war that it may accept a "dangerously flawed deal". The newspaper's Washington bureau cited anonymous Pentagon officials expressing concern about the inclusion of non-NATO forces in an international force for Kosovo and restrictions on heavy US weaponry in such a force. China is in the final throes of applying for membership of the World Trade Organisation, despite concerted Washington criticism in recent months over threats to Taiwan, the jailing of political dissidents and a widening trade gap. For their part, Chinese officials accused the US of striking the embassy to punish China for representing Yugoslav diplomatic interests in Washington. Whatever the precise motivation, the attack was certainly designed to send a blunt message to China: the devastation being wreaked upon Yugoslavia can be applied to China or any other country that obstructs US economic and military policy. While everything points to a pre-meditated attack on the embassy, it is also conceivable that President Clinton personally had no knowledge of the plan. Given the Byzantine nature of the struggles between the White House, the Pentagon, the CIA and other elements within the US political and military establishment, it is quite possible that the bombing was designed to embarrass the Clinton administration, escalate the war and pursue an even more militarist agenda. May 11 — The bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade may not have been a
mistake at all. Let me explain: Now that our effort in Yugoslavia has hit
foreign embassies and diplomats as well as civilians, it’s time for new some
questions.
THE FIRST QUESTION is this: "What’s the worst thing China can do to us for
bombing their building and killing their people?" The answer is very different
today than it was before Bill Clinton was president.
Prior to buying and possibly stealing some of our most sensitive nuclear
defense secrets, all China could do was bluster. But this is a new day.
Now China may be able to build, test, target, and launch nuclear strikes
against U.S. cities with accuracy they never dreamed of having until the
middle of the next century. Now that’s progress.
And it does look like the Chinese are pretty angry with us. So angry, they
probably won’t be speaking to us for quite a while — especially about
controversial matters, such as spying and nuclear secrets. In fact, the
Chinese have just announced they have suspended discussions on these very
issues.
ON CLINTON’S WATCH
How very convenient for the Clinton administration. The last thing Bill
Clinton wants is an American public actually aware that China may pose
greater danger to us than the former Soviet Union ever did, and that they
acquired their dangerous capability on Clinton’s watch.
Enter the Cox report. Waiting in the wings is a bipartisan Congressional
document, named for California Republican Rep. Chris Cox, chair of a select
committee charged with examining transfer of sensitive U.S. technology to
China. The still-classified report is said to reveal that China has had
access not only sensitive missile and satellite technology via its business
dealings with Space Systems, Loral and the Hughes Corp., but also to vital
military secrets.
Clinton asserted some weeks ago that nobody in his administration ever told
him espionage was even suspected. But on "Meet the Press" Sunday, Energy
Secretary Bill Richardson, addressing another suspected breach of national
security at Los Alamos nuclear labs, said that is exactly what had occurred
"during the current administration."
And here is where the bombing of the Chinese embassy comes in. Most of us
have no trouble believing that the United States is performing awkwardly
and ineptly in this war. But perhaps we are not quite that incompetent.
Is it possible we could have bombed China’s embassy intentionally, to create
a pretext for our inability to ask them about devastating allegations
anticipated in the Cox report? "Gee, we would love to ask the Chinese about
this, really we would, but they’re not speaking to us. What can you do?"
In such a scenario, would Clinton really risk provoking such a powerful
adversary to cover himself politically? The not-so-obvious answer is: The
Chinese knew and gave their permission. They also want a pretext to refuse
to answer such questions.
Paranoid? Perhaps. But entirely plausible. In order to dismiss my suspicion,
you must refute my beliefs that:

Leopold and Loeb from the hangman by arguing that they had been unduly influenced by a
philosophy book -- Nietzsche and his superman myth. In his famous closing argument,
Darrow said, "Your Honor, it is hardly fair to hang a nineteen-year-old boy for the
philosophy that was taught him at the university." (Darrow never received a degree from
Michigan law school.)
If anything, Leopold and Loeb had not absorbed enough Nietzsche.
When Nietzsche famously said, "God is dead," he was not exulting nor was he stating a
preference (though he was an atheist). He was making an observation and a dire
prediction. With belief in God all but gone from the intellectual classes, Nietzsche
prophesied that people would soon begin to replace a faith in God with faith in
governments -- "barbaric nationalistic brotherhoods," he called them. As a result, he
said, bloody and catastrophic wars would dominate the 20th century. He wrote this in
1888.
Two hundred million people murdered by governments, or "barbaric nationalistic
brotherhoods," later -- and Nietzsche is looking pretty prescient.
In the 111 years since Nietzsche made his famous prediction, the world has witnessed
Stalin, Mao, Hitler, and Pol Pot, to name a few world leaders, murdering their own
people in the name of communism and fascism (a piker by comparison).
In January 1943, Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto staged the first armed resistance to one
such barbaric nationalistic brotherhood. With only ten pistols they held off the Nazi
exterminators for 3 months. Unable to take the Jews by force, the Nazis eventually had
to burn the ghetto down, house by house. Joseph Goebbels later wrote of the Warsaw
Ghetto uprising, "This just shows what you can expect from Jews if they lay hands on
weapons."
At least one of the great governments in the twentieth century cannot count its
government murdered citizens in the millions. That was the government founded on a
belief that God was not dead, and indeed on a belief in human freedom endowed by God.
That was the government that was designed never to resemble the "military
establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe" because this government was not
"afraid to trust the people with arms," as James Madison wrote in Federalist 46.
That is also the government now led by a man who openly and repeatedly violates his
oath to God -- usually, at least with Monica, on the Sabbath; the cigar incident took
place on Easter Sunday. A man with behavior patterns that could only be sustained by an
deep felt and abiding belief that God is, in fact, dead. (AT LEAST ANY GOD OTHER THAN
HIMSELF: LIKE POL POT, CLINTON SEEMS TO THINK HIMSELF A SAINT.) And now he wants to
take our guns away.
Interestingly, all the citizens murdered recently by the United States government have
been murdered for alleged violations of the gun laws. (And it murder committed by
government agents at Ruby Ridge and Waco.)
But the government doesn’t like competition in murder. No one talked about new
restrictions on the government’s firepower after it killed 85 people in Waco, Texas.
Fifteen dead in Littleton, Colorado, (killed by a non-governmental force) and the
government sees an urgent need to limit the ability of citizens to buy guns.
There are two recurring characteristics to the demand for new restrictions on guns
after every sensational murder (committed by someone who was not working for the
government at the time).
First, there is always the incomprehensible suggestion that this -- at last -- will
change people’s minds about gun control. As Rosie O’Donnell said of the Littleton
shootings, "Enough is enough." It’s as if they’re expecting gun-lovers to respond with
something like --
No, it is precisely because guns can be used to kill people that we love them. It’s
nice that guns can kill deer and ducks and wild boar, but that’s incidental. The reason
we have a constitutional right to be armed is not because the framers really loved
duck-hunting. The reason we have a right to bear arms is to protect ourselves from a
tyrannical government. the Twentieth Century.
Second, the specific gun restrictions proposed after every shocking crime, invariably
would have done nothing to prevent the shocking crime in the first place. For example,
President Clinton’s three proposals in response to the Littleton shooting would require
1) background checks for those who buy explosives (the killers in Littleton had only
one minor juvenile offense on their records); 2) raising the legal age for handgun
purchases to 21 (the killers apparently did not purchase the guns themselves); and 3) a
limit on handgun purchases to one per person per month (the young killers had been
planning their attack for almost a year).
Moreover, I haven’t reviewed the Colorado criminal code lately, but I’m almost certain
it was against the law for young Leopold and Loeb to shoot up their classmates and try
to blow up the school. It would be precisely as logical a response to the Littleton
shooting to pass a new law that would expressly prohibit blowing up your high school on
Tuesdays, as it is to pass even theoretically relevant gun laws -- which Clinton’s
proposals aren’t. Someone who is willing to violate the laws against murder isn’t the
sort who will be thwarted by laws against buying more than one handgun per month.
People murder children for thrills because there is evil in the world. It’s not -- as I
have seen variously claimed -- guns, divorce, bad parenting, bad counsellors, sexual
abuse, "Goth" music, TV shows that "romanticize and glorify violence" (as the first
lady suggested), computer games, or Nietzsche. Not that I’m broken up about Hollywood
taking some of the blame this time rather than Ruger. Burberrys better watch out, too.
It’s not even, I’m loathe to report, President Clinton (as the State-run Serb
television claimed, explaining that his policies showed that "America solves problems
by force.") Being a satanic little creep may be a symptom of evil, but symptoms aren’t
causes. Evil is the cause, and there’s more evil in a society in which the elites
believe God is dead.
The real danger in a world in which God is dead isn’t from the random satanic little
creeps. It is from the institutionalized mass murder of the kind only a government can
pull off.
Consider that Nietzsche’s prediction for the 20th century was cheerful and rosy
compared to what he had to say about the 21st. The twentieth century would at least
have a residual moral capital of the 19th century to carry it along. By the 21st,
Nietzsche said, even that would be gone. In the next century -- the one right around
the corner -- he predicted "the total eclipse of all values."
It should give pause that the guy who is constantly yapping about building a bridge to
that century wants to take away our guns.

They are leaving the home land which they only knew of for years and now they must go some where new and different. War is not a pretty thing but I do understand why we are fighting. Message: RE: Kosovar refugees Where can I find information about basic Kosovar culture/ lifestyle? I cannot imagine being in a country where I don't speak the language, having lost close relatives, having seen my house destroyed, having nothing but my clothes, and now starting over in a low income apartment with only donated discards. Our community has sponsored some Kosovar refugees, and many volunteers are helping. But we can't even say hello to them in their own language. What are they used to? What kind of food would be nice once in a while? Are they offended that the donated women's clothes have short sleeves? Are they used to baking their own bread? When do they usually eat? What is impolite, in their eyes? I know they need to learn American culture, but as an imigrant twice in foreign countries, I know a little sensitivity makes the transition easier. HELP. I'm sure many people would like information about the new arrivals. Where can we find out? Thanks.
