Message: First I want to commend you for handling this situation with Monica excellently. You always conducted yourself as a strong woman, never speaking on the subject and not allowing it to destroy you. I know its was a difficult situation and my heart goes out to you and your daughter. Also it must be mentioned that the only fool in this picture is Monica. She knew what she was doing and for her to think for one minute that Mr. Clinton would leave you, his wife an intelligent, strong, powerful and secure woman for a loose, insecure, gullible GIRL was STUPID. I hope that you run for Senate. I think Mr. Guliani has done a decent job as a Mayor. However, I am very unhappy how he handle the Amadou Diallo situation. These four police officer are still allowed to work after they KILLED an inoncent victim. When a few years ago in Howard Beach the neighbor had the Holloween Parade and one of the float was the dragging of a black man. Mr. Guliani was quick to fire the Fireman. The Fireman was absolutely wrong for participating in the parade, however, he did not KILL anyone and he was FIRED. These four police officer shot and KILLED Mr. Diallo an inocent human being and they are walking free in the streets and working. Mr. Guliani should have fired them immediately just like he fired the fireman. Because of the way Mr. Guliani is handling this situation I now have doubts about the way he operates.

It was kinda strange because the last time I saw him was when he was Jerry Springer. He would have all these babes on his show that were strippers or had some sort of sexual thing going on. Lewinsky Feels More Humiliated Than Hillary Clinton

LONDON (Reuters) - Monica Lewinsky says she feels she has been more humiliated and damaged than Hillary Clinton by her affair with President Clinton that almost toppled the most powerful man on earth.

Lewinsky was front-page news across Britain Tuesday after she broke down in tears when faced with a barrage of press photographer flashguns at a book signing ceremony in the luxury department store Harrods.

``I was a lot more humiliated than Mrs. Clinton was,'' Lewinsky, on a media blitz around Britain publicizing her biography, told the Daily Telegraph.

``I don't want to characterize the reasons why she might feel humiliated but I think I have had so many different aspects of life exposed, much more than she has. And I think it has been more damaging to me too.''

Lewinsky, who has poured out her soul in interviews on both British and American television, said of her former lover:
``He was the one being unfaithful, not me. I did not betray his wife and child...He is much more responsible for Chelsea and Mrs. Clinton's pain than I am.''

Lewinsky recovered her composure at Harrods to break the signing record set at the store by former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Lewinsky autographed 1,150 copies of her book for customers who had been queuing since dawn.

The book is written by Andrew Morton, biographer of Princess Diana. Lewinsky believes that she suffered as much as Diana because ``I was also wronged by a man who said he loved me.''

Lewinsky told the Daily Telegraph that she feared the biography was too candid.

``Andrew and I were always arguing about that. I wanted some bits left out but he would say: 'Monica, this bit has to go in. It must be accurate.'''

Was Lewinsky disappointed that Clinton had never ceded to her demands for full sexual intercourse?

``It would have been nice to have been in a bedroom with candles and music and all sorts of things,'' Lewinsky replied, ''but sex is really what is going on in the heart and the mind and the soul and the spirit.''

When you refer to "morals" are you referring to honesty and integrity or are you referring to lying, obfuscation, covering up bribes (the sleazy crooked lawyer/politician behavior) and other dishonest behavior. A moral and gifted surgeon uses his "gift" to help others. If we are to believe Hillary, she is truly "gifted" when it comes to dealing in cattle futures. It is only logical that she would use her "gift" as a moral person to help others achieve similar results in the field she is "gifted" in. My request is reasonable to a moral and gifted public servant such as Hillary. If a person claims they are a brain surgeon, yet can not perform brain surgery, then that person would be a liar. If a person claims that can make $100,000 on a whim in Cattle Futures, they should be able to do it more than the one time they "allegedly" tried. Bill and Hillary Clinton are experimenting with a trial separation, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

According to well-placed sources in and out of government, the first couple has recently decided to put some space and distance between each other. In recent days, schedules have been changed and rearranged to give the couple maximum breathing space.

"This is more than a fight, but they have gone through a separation like this before," one former Clinton adviser who has remained close to the couple tells the DRUDGE REPORT. "They always come back to each other... however, this time, it looks damn serious."

The development comes after First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton hit total anger over Juanita Broaddrick's rape charge.

"She was humiliated, he can't keep doing this to her," said one Hillary supporter inside of the White House. "He promised her over and over again that this rape story was not going to amount to anything. It has caused a serious breakdown" in their communication.

If the Broaddrick charge is the straw that broke the first lady's back, the new book by former Clinton adviser George Stephanopolous is also said to be causing Mrs. Clinton tremendous personal anxiety.

"She always told Bill that George was not to be trusted," revealed the White House source. "It is all blowing up in her face."

One active secret service agent, who demanded anonymity, told the DRUDGE REPORT in Washington last week that the Clintons have been fighting almost non-stop. "They may look like they are together, like a couple, they are not," revealed the agent. "It is all played for the cameras. You watch, Mr. Drudge, if you report the truth about this mess -- they'll stage a photo-op where they'll both be happy and in love. They always do."

The agent, who gave testimony before the Lewinsky grand jury last year, has been secretly talking to reporters and has seriously considered leaving his job in recent weeks -- directly because of the hostility he has witnessed between the Clintons.

The trial separation could become a public relations problem for the White House as early as next week when the president is set to attend the 55th Annual Radio and Television Correspondents's Association Dinner -- alone!

White House press veteran Helen Thomas is reporting this weekend that the first lady is planning to skip the radio-television correspondents dinner. Instead, she will soon be traveling to North Africa, with stops in exotic Morocco and Tunisia. President Clinton, however, is still planning to attend the dinner.

Mrs. Clinton will also take a pass on the annual Gridiron dinner, an event the president is also planning to attend solo.

The White House late Wednesday night strongly denied that the Clintons were in a trial separation after it was reported on the DRUDGE REPORT website, calling the story completely based on rumor and gossip.

FOX NEWS on Wednesday evening ran a story that claimed the abrupt end to last week's family ski trip and Mrs. Clinton's absence from the president's current Central America trip has more to do with a strained marriage than a strained back.

"Sources tell FOX NEWS the reason it abruptly ended was because the first couple had a shouting match, which left Hillary Clinton storming out of the room saying she wanted her bags," reported the FOX's Rita Cosby.

Cosby continued: "A Clinton family friend tells FOX NEWS that the first couple barely speak in private, that quote, 'They have nothing to talk about anymore. The only thing they have in common is Chelsea.'"

Marsha Berry, the first lady's spokesperson told reporters this week that she would not comment on the state of the marriage, but said the reason they cut the family vacation short was because the first lady aggravated an old back injury.

However, White House spokesman Barry Toiv initially told reporters that the Clintons decided to cut the vacation short -- "get home a day early" -- because they both had a full schedule.

But the back trouble didn't prevent Mrs. Clinton from going on a trip only 48 hours later to New York City -- a trip that included a busy schedule filled with more than 6 different political events.

The FOX NEWS report continued: "The first lady was scheduled to be with the president on his current trip to Central America, but sources close to the first family say Mrs. Clinton felt she could not get separate hotel rooms on the foreign trip without it being obvious, and she therefore canceled. The source says Hillary said quote 'I don't want to be in the same room with him, let alone the same bed.'"

FOX NEWS' Cosby was first to broadcast Broaddrick's charges last month.

But the first lady's spokeswoman, Marsha Berry, said the report is "not true," adding Mrs. Clinton is reluctantly skipping the trip because of a back injury aggravated by skiing.

"She basically has been told she should stay off her feet because she hurt herself," Berry said. "She could not have done this trip." Berry declined to discuss the Clintons' sleeping arrangements at the White House or the state of their marriage.

"It's not our business," she said.

At times in recent months the first lady has seemed to give her husband the big chill in public and he has repeatedly said the worst thing about the scandal involving his affair with Monica Lewinsky is the pain it continues to cause his family.

The state of the Clintons' marriage has sparked speculation right from his 1992 campaign and Gennifer Flowers' claim of a longtime affair, up through the past year of the Lewinsky scandal.

The Fox News report says the big blowup between the Clintons came during their Utah skiing vacation a few weeks ago with daughter Chelsea — a trip from which they abruptly returned a day early.

The two had a shouting match that ended with Hillary Clinton storming out of the room and saying she wanted her bags, it added.

The report quotes an unnamed family friend as saying the Clintons barely speak in private.

"They have nothing to talk about any more. The only thing they have in common is Chelsea," the source says.

House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, said that even under the time-honored tradition of politicians taking credit for everything, Gore's statement is an "outrageous claim.''

Gore, who is widely credited for coining the term "information superhighway,'' raised eyebrows with a pronouncement he made Tuesday during a CNN interview.

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet,'' he said when asked to cite accomplishments that separate him from another Democratic presidential hopeful, former Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey.

Apprised Thursday of the statement, Armey said: "I just have to tell you that I cracked up this morning over his contention.''

"If the vice president created the Internet, then I created the interstate highway system,'' he added.

Also tweaking Gore, the administration's point man on high-tech issues, was House Science Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., who issued a statement headlined, "I had no idea!''

"Vice President Gore taking credit for creating the Internet certainly gives new meaning to the term 'March madness,''' Sensenbrenner said in a jab at his one-time Science Committee colleague.

The Internet, originally called ARPANET, dates to 1969, when the Defense Department began funding the project. Gore, then 21, was still eight years away from joining Congress.

The vice president's spokesman, Chris Lehane, defended his boss's claim, saying Gore "was the leader in Congress on the connections between data transmission and computing power, what we today call information technology. And those efforts helped to create the Internet that we know today.''

Lehane was gleeful over Armey's reference to the interstate highway system, noting that Al Gore Sr. — during both his House and Senate tenures — shepherded passage of legislation creating a national highway network.

But Al Gore as the father of the Internet?

That's what the campaigner in chief told CNN's Wolf Blitzer during an interview Tuesday evening. Blitzer asked Gore how he was different than other presumptive Democratic challengers, such as Bill Bradley. "What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?"

Replied Gore: "I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins, and it'll be comprehensive and sweeping, and I hope that it'll be compelling enough to draw people toward it.... I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years."

Then came the kicker: "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

Huh?

Preliminary discussions of how the ARPANET would be designed began in 1967, and a request for proposals went out the following year. In 1969, the Defense Department commissioned the ARPANET.

Gore was 21-years-old at the time. He wasn't even done with law school at Vanderbilt University. It would be eight more years before Gore would be elected to the US House of Representatives as a freshman Democrat with scant experience in passing legislation, let alone ambitious proposals.

By that time, file copying -- via the UUCP protocol -- was beginning. Email was flourishing. The culture of the Internet was starting to develop through the Jargon File and the SF-Lovers mailing list.

Of course, politicians weren't completely unaware of the Internet.

According to one account, when Senator Ted Kennedy learned in 1968 that Massachusetts-based BBN had won the ARPA contract for an "interface message processor," he sent a congratulatory telegram. It thanked the upstanding folks at BBN for their ecumenical spirit in devising an "interfaith message processor."

Blitzer, unfortunately, didn't appear to know any of that. After Gore took credit for the Internet, Blitzer simply moved on talk about polls showing Texas governor George W. Bush and Elizabeth Dole ahead of the vice president.
Gore has taken credit for popularizing the term "information superhighway" and around 1991 penned related articles for publications such as Byte magazine. But the term "data highway" has been used as far back as 1975, before Gore entered Congress.

In 1990, Gore introduced a bill that would allow the federal government to enter the business of crafting software for teachers to use. Another Gore plan would create a new federal research center for educational computing to support an "information systems highway."

But the system he envisioned bears little resemblance to the PC-dominated Internet.

"Supercomputers are the steam locomotives of the information age," then-Senator Gore was quoted as saying in one article published in 1990. "In the Industrial Age, steam locomotives didn't do much good until the railroad tracks were laid down across the nation. Similarly, we now have supercomputers going into the seventh generation of supercomputers, but we don't have the interstate highways that we need to connect them.

"Within four years, the top-of-the-line US$20 million supercomputers will cost less than $400,000. A few years after that, they will be in the $10,000 to $20,000 range."

But the development of the Net has resembled less a government-managed industrial project -- such as the orderly interstate-highway systems Gore hoped for -- and more an anarchic sprawl.

"Gore played no positive role in the decisions that led to the creation of the Internet as it now exists -- that is, in the opening of the Internet to commercial traffic," said Steve Allen, vice president for communications at the conservative Progress and Freedom Foundation.

Since 1993, Gore has become one of the most prominent people in the Clinton administration on issues related to high technology. He hosts visiting businessmen and takes pride in personally announcing new technology initiatives such as Internet II funding.

He also took the lead in supporting the Clipper Chip and continued restrictions on the overseas shipments of encryption products.

High-visibility events can be prone to embarrassing slip-ups. At one recent White House event, Gore introduced Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers, who he had met with privately earlier that day.

Gore told the audience how much he valued Chambers and one of the products Cisco produced. But he mispronounced "routers" as root-ers.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Charles Bakaly, the spokesman for Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr in the Monica Lewinsky drama, abruptly resigned Thursday after an internal review of a recent press leak prompted Starr to request a full Justice Department investigation.

At issue is a Jan. 31 article in The New York Times that reported Starr had concluded President Clinton could legally be indicted while still in office.

Bakaly went on national television the day after the article appeared and said the ``information did not come from our office. ... We did not leak this information. ... We do not leak grand jury information.''

Neither Bakaly's attorney nor Starr's office would disclose the findings of the internal inquiry into the leak, but both made clear in prepared statements that it played a role in Bakaly's departure.

``After having been provided with the preliminary results of the internal investigation, this office has referred the matter to the Department of Justice,'' Starr said in a statement. Starr said he accepted the resignation with ``regret.''

Bakaly's lawyer, Howard Shapiro, said in a statement that his client would cooperate ``in every way'' with the Justice inquiry and said he was ``confident that he will be found not to have violated any statute, regulation or court order.''

``Given that it was Mr. Bakaly's job as OIC spokesman to respond to media inquiries concerning the OIC's work, it is no surprise that he has been interviewed in connection with the inquiry being conducted by the Department of Justice,'' Shapiro said.

Bakaly's resignation is to take effect June 1, but Starr placed him on paid administrative leave in the interim.

Justice Department spokesman Myron Marlin confirmed that Starr referred the Bakaly matter.

``We have not yet received the investigative materials in connection with the matter from the FBI agents assigned to the Office of Independent Counsel,'' Marlin said. ``When we receive it, we will determine how best to proceed.''

The Times story came at a sensitive time for Starr because a federal judge already was investigating his office regarding allegations of leaks of grand jury material in the Lewinsky case.

At the time of the January news story, Starr had said he was ``deeply troubled'' by the latest leak and ordered a review. Clinton's lawyer, meanwhile, complained to the judge overseeing the case that the report amounted to another illegal leak.

Bakaly did not immediately return a call to his home seeking comment Thursday. His lawyer was out of his office.

But Shapiro said in the statement that his client joined Starr's staff ``during a high-profile phase and unavoidably controversial phase of the OIC's investigation to communicate the OIC's work to the media and public. With that high-profile phase of the OIC's work now largely completed, this is a logical time for Mr. Bakaly to make the transition back to the private sector.''

Bakaly, a bespectacled lawyer who also acted as spokesman for Independent Counsel Donald Smaltz's investigation of former Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy, was the official who announced from the steps of the Capitol that Starr had sent a referral to Congress alleging possible impeachable offenses late last summer.

Experts say Clinton lied repeatedly during his press conference

President Bill Clinton lied repeatedly during his Friday press conference, avoiding the truth when discussing the China spying scandal, his relationship with his wife and charges that he raped Juanita Broaddrick, an analysis by two experts shows.

Capitol Hill Blue hired a psychologist who treats chronic liars and a private investigator who uses voice stress analysis to catch liars. They analyzed the President's press conference live on television and again on videotape.

Their conclusion: The President lied more often than he told the truth. Even when he told the nation that he felt a "scorecard" would show he had been a good President who had told the truth more often than he had lied, he was, in fact, lying.

"The President exhibited all the classic symptoms of pathological prevarication," said Dr. Stephanie Crossfield, a psychologist who treats people who have trouble telling the truth. "His eye movements, gestures, and changes in voice tone all point to a consistent evasion of the truth."

Jonathan Rensley, a private investigator who used a voice stress analyzer to monitor the President's performance during the press conference, agrees.

"In spite of his demeanor, the President's voice patterns showed unusually high levels of stress, consistent with someone who is not telling the truth," Rensley said.

At Capitol Hill Blue's insistence, Dr. Crossfield and Rensley did not make their judgement based on one viewing of the President's performance or by consulting with each other. Both watched the press conference live, then rechecked their findings by viewing a full videotape of the press conference on both Saturday and Sunday to confirm their findings.

Without consulting with each other, they concluded the President was lying at several points in his press conference, including:

Dr. Crossfield said the eyes usually give even the best liars away.

"Eye movement is difficult to control," she said. "The eyes dart away in specific patterns when a person is not telling the truth. The President's eyes dart a lot."

"We love each other very much and we're working at it," Clinton said of his wife and their problems. Dr. Crossfield said Clinton's eye movement indicated lying when he said he loved his wife. Rensley's voice stress analyzer said the same thing.

And even though the President refused to answer ABC newsman Sam Donaldson's question of his guilt of the charges of rape by Arkansas businesswoman Juanita Broaddrick, both said Clinton's demeanor suggested he was hiding something.

"His eyes looked away in a pattern that is consistent with evasion and concealment," said Dr. Crossfield. "His body language was not that of a man who was being truthful."

Likewise, Rensley's voice stress analyzer said the President was lying when he said: "There's been a statement made by my attorney. He speaks for me, and I think he spoke quite clearly."
